Tonight in my city of Louisville, KY is a program called The Crusade for Children. It's an annual event that has been around for 50+ yrs and raises money to help aide children with physical defects and other medical problems. The fire departments throughtout Kentucky and Southern Indiania collect money from motorists and hold events to raise money. The school systems and other organizations in both states also do the same thing. If you would like to donate go to WHAS11.COM and make your pledge. It will be greatly appreciated.

What you really need to hype and market such events in our age of media networking is the right social symbol 'angle.'

The rainbow symbol has traditionally been used by the gay rights community, the Irish folklore sector, and the generic mystics parties. This is because the rainbow represents color variegation and hence the general 'magic' of perception experience.

However, the rainbow also represents the desire for adventure. Since the rainbow is a naturally-occurring multi-color phenomenon, we can use the rainbow to advertise the demands on today's youngsters growing up in a mercantilism-catalyzed eTrade culture.

Crusade for Children sounds like a modern age Special Olympics from a certain viewpoint.

The American animated series "Rainbow Brite" (1984-1986) presented youth-targeted fantasy-adventure stories about a precocious young Caucasian girl whose journeys in a magical land require her to harness the natural forces of life to promote friendship.

"Rainbow Brite" (1984-1986) is the sort of modern age television programming that reinforces notions about social motivation.
