My this day in history reading got me on this topic: Japanese power plant leaks radioactive waste - Mar 09, 1981 - HISTORY.com
Apparently twice in 1981 there were moderate leaks or spills at two different nuclear plants in Japan which their regulatory agency tried to sweep under the rug because, "of Japanese emotionalism toward anything nuclear"
I'm skeptical of anything a company does in relation to the environment. Maybe the Bhopal mishap turned me sour.
Is there a big counter point to what I have read on these Japanese spills indicating they were no big deal at all or this is fake "This day in history" news?
