Making America strong and productive.

Nit picking about whether the know or don't know certain facts does not speak to their ability to "right the ship".
A president needs:

(1) Diplomacy
(2) Charisma
(3) Respectability
(4) Compassion
(5) Vision
(6) Interpersonal Skills
(7) Confidence
(8) Determination
(9) Humility
(10) Discernment
(11) Genuine love for America

Whoever can meet most of those criteria, should be our leader.

11) Absolute ruthlessness toward the enemies of America.

I'd say that is a combination of Confidence, Determination and Love for America.
No fear, but, discernment.

The Government is really not much different than a business.
The people are the clients
The employees are the representatives.
You have to take care of both, and have ethics in place and ENFORCED.

Enforcement is where we fail.
Self gratification and bending rules is where we fail.

The criteria in the op excludes virtually every Democrat currently alive,

It's much more important for our Leader to be able to read people and have common sense, they to have book knowledge.....

People take trite, irrelevant things to try to denigrate candidates. It only shows their immaturity....
People by in for the drama - these are not teams we are rooting for. They are no clubs we belong to or side with.
This is about determining what is best for the Country as a whole. Someone we would stand behind and support, with pride and courage.

Nonsense.

Many of the 'criteria' are too vague and consequently devoid of meaning.

And by what objective authority of consensus will a candidate be judged with regard to a 'genuine love for America,' where as with the other 'criteria,' this is vague, subjective, and meaningless.

In fact, this is a lame, pathetic, and transparent attempt to justify support for the likes of Trump and Carson, both of whom are woefully ignorant of many important facts which are legitimate criteria to use in determining if a president is qualified to occupy the Oval Office.

Also subjective and wrong is the notion that America is currently not 'strong' or 'productive,' or that there is a need to 'right the ship.'

I think a clear minded Christian, able to love all people, strong and unafraid to speak truth would be good
Because I prefer a Christian President doesn't mean I feel that everyone "has" to be a Christian in this country.
There is a middle ground but people have blinders on and refuse to see.
This is just my PREFERENCE. Not a mandate.

I don't care who they are, they just have to give a damn and not be corrupt.....
(still want them to be Christian though... but.... )
