The Rev. William Thomas Faucher, accused of child porn and drug crimes, was role-playing with a fellow author in some of the chatroom conversations in which he’s alleged to have said he wanted to rape and kill children, his attorney said in court Friday.

The 72-year-old retired priest has been in the Ada County Jail the past four weeks — after his bond was raised to $1 million by Magistrate Judge James Cawthon — and it doesn’t look like he’ll be getting out anytime soon.

Faucher was arrested on Feb. 2. He is now charged with 24 crimes: 21 counts of felony sexual exploitation of a child, one count of felony possession of a controlled substance (LSD) and two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (marijuana and ecstasy).

Why does a priest fantasize about raping and killing children?

None of us are really in control of what turns us on--only what we do about it.

Shave the hair on my neck please....They need to let the priest get married and stop the nonsense of not recognizing that Jesus was gay...

How does any person do that? But these religious types sure take the cake, don't they?

I watched this documentary called child of rage about children psychopaths/sociopaths. The gist of it was this girl tortured animals and wanted to kill her adoptive parents and brother when she was 5. She had a lot of murderous fantasies. But many years later after therapy and care, she was on a podcast as an adult woman explaining why she had those thoughts and how she overcame them and no longer has them. IMO you can control some thoughts and should try to especially thoughts of raping and murdering kids.

Is there any evidence that members of the clergy commit sexual offenses in greater numbers than the general population?

Edited to Add:

I don't know. I have never researched it. But non-religious pedos aren't vowing to have a standard outlined by an established religious belief.

I’m not sure anyone has. Their crimes are certainly publicized more widely, leading to a perception that sexual criminality is more prevalent in the clerical fraternity.

It's upsetting either way. Plus you kind of expect to be a little more safe with someone religious because you think they are going o adhere to the beliefs of the religion. I mean yes there are creeps whether religious or not. It just sucks you can't trust anyone.
