Couple Sues Wal-Mart for Calling Cops Over Bath Time Photos

You are special.. People like you are also the reason parents can't discipline their children anymore, either.

You should be proud of yourself.

People like you must not be doing something right. I disciplined my kids. They got spanked, as did I when I was young, and we're all healthy, productive, employed adults

Kudos to WalMart personnel for reporting it. There are far too many pedophiles in our society, and someone needs to watch out for and intervene for those who cannot speak up for themselves.

What happened after WalMart's reporting this is not WalMart's problem, but a reflection on the legal system.

I don't understand the need to photograph your children bathing and lying together naked. The old "bearskin rug" shot is cute, but anything more than that, in my humble opinion, is inappropriate.
I can't imagine those children growing up and saying, "Oh, I just love this childhood photo of me where you can see my little genitals."

How do the parents teach these children who they can and can't display their bodies to? You can't simply allow "family" viewing, because their are sickos within families. I worry for these children.

How's that custom tinfoil hat coming along? You know they DO make medicine for retards like you that think taking a pic of your kid nekkid is porn? Sorry, asswipe, but kids are cute. Even the tub. Or when they yank their own diapers off in the kiddie pool in the back yard.

It has NOTHING to do with porn, moron. So no, there's no kudos to Walmart. Say it like it is: Kudos to the police state from YOU. Fuckers like you are ridiculous.

Aww, Gunny, you make me feel so special. ((((Gunny))))

You're what's wrong with this country. Some paranoid, PC piece of garbage dictating your phobias to others. There's a big fucking difference between child porn and taking pictures of your own damned kids, you dork.

Try pulling that stick out of your ass and your head out of the sand and let some oxygen in both ends and maybe your brain will function, jerkoff. You pansy-ass PC MFers make me want to go out and break something.

Wow, sorry to make your BP peg in the red zone. That's gonna hurt, eventually. But you do have a way with words.

You don't. At all.

After trying to decipher all of this, I am going to side with the parents, and here is the reason. First of all, their suit against Walmart is not due to the fact that Walmart turned the photos over to authorities but due to the fact that Walmart didn't have a disclaimer warning innocent parents that any nude photos of their kids would be turned over to authorities and would in turn cause their kids to be taken away even if the photos were not in fact pornography.

As for child services, and all the government agencies, why did it take a month to figure all of this out? And why were the parents required to register as sex offenders before they were even charged? That alone is reason enough to find in favor of the parents. This comes down to the way our justice system works, and lately it seems that everyone is presumed guilty until proven innocent. Next thing you know, they're going to go back to trial by fire.

The bottom line is that this family's life was disrupted to an extreme, they suffered huge financial losses, and they were defamed as their friends and family members were told that they were pedophiles. I certainly know how I would judge this case.

Perhaps because of what the parents admitted to in the article? I would think that complicated matters a bit. I have no problem with parents allowing their kids to run naked in the home, although it would seem that would be a bit confusing to the kids (especially the younger ones) when defining the boundaries of where this is acceptable. Personally, I want CPS to be thorough when it comes to stuff like this. There are some crazy bastards out there, and we've all seen stories of what parents have done to their own kids. Bottom line, though, is we don't know what turned up in the investigation and how that could have clouded the matter.

You have to be convicted in order to be put on a registry. Either the mother is flat-out lying, or misunderstood something along the way (perhaps her attorney told her that this would lead to her being placed on the registry).

"Our family is very open and comfortable. We don't want our children to feel inhibited in their own house," A.J. Demaree said. "If they want to run around in their underwear, if they want to go run and grab an old Halloween costume and throw that on and run around the house, or if they want to run around the house naked and play around, that's what we encourage."

Id say there is something wrong with these people

i'd say you're a fuckwit.

I read the story and didn't hear any descriptions of pictures that warrant any police action.

Who knows what the other pics were though, as I dont know I can't comment.

If the parents did nothing that a "reasonable person" would consider wrong the judge would let it go...IMO.

From the article: "According to the police report, photos were of the children in provocative positions, with their genitals exposed."

There are sick bastards out there who exploit their own children. If this case had turned out to be parents who were doing so and the developers and police had looked the other way, I can only imagine the outrage here.

"We went on a central registry of sex offenders. Our names went on that registry," Lisa said.
I'm not sure I believe that, as that happens after one is convicted.

The Demarees have sued the city of Peoria and the State Attorney General's office for defamation and Wal-Mart for failing to tell them that they had an "unsuitable print policy" and could turn over photos to law enforcement without their knowledge.
Then they are simply idiots.

BTW, where's all the outrage about frivolous lawsuits and tort reform??

Exactly how did the parents exploit their children?

I'd say your right.

Without seeing any of the pics, and just reading the link that was posted, I'd say there's *one* photo that might make me take pause, and that would be the one described as the three girls laying naked on a towel. It just *sounds* like it has the potential to be bad.

HOWEVER, the flip side of that is I take pics of just about everything for fun, and I've managed to snap some pics with just the right timing that *could* look totally staged, and "wrong".

Seeing the one pic that someone posted here, I'd say pretty much every parent has that type of picture of their child, and they're often used to torture said children well into their teen years with the threat of showing them to friends and/or boyfriends and girlfriends.

Walmart should be required to post a disclaimer, or just butt the fuck out of someone elses shit.

I don't believe the parents ended up on the Registry of Sex offenders, though, since I think it takes a couple months to end up there and that's only after you've been actually *convicted* of a sexual crime against a child.

I never said they did. You should have read the next line.

Why would the exploitation of children even be a part of this discussion? No one has alleged these children were exploited, have they? In my opinion children are exploited everyday and I don't hear anyone complaining. Cases in point Jon and Kate's children, every child under the age of 17 in a beauty contest, these are children that's being exploited on a daily basis and I don't hear squat about it from the left.

*On a side note and off topic*

Are you pro-life or pro-choice?

Without the photos themselves, it would be impossible to make a judgement.

Of course the parents would claim innocence no matter the circumstances.

The fact that a judge ruled in their favor makes them look good, but the pictures themselves could still very well look suspicious.
