I sincerely hope the child is taken from them immediately. Otherwise it is almost certainly a future addict and/or an upcoming member to join the incarcerated population.

If you read the whole article, the child is being cared for by relatives.

I’m just saying that small detail, of thanking the person who saved her child, shows something.

In all honesty... she is probably only saying that thinking it might help save her own skin.

My son is a respiratory specialist in a nationally recognized PICU trauma center.... when you see the aftermath of the results of addict parents have on their children - you would have a different mindset.
And no, it isn't just "drug babies". It is all manner of trauma/illnesses due to neglect of such parents.
It is a national disgrace,
One that is ignored by the MSM because, like you (just sayin) they want to have empathy for the parents.

Where did I express empathy? I acknowledged that she thanked the person for saving her baby.

In my experience, the ones who don’t care, make all kinds of excuses and minimize the danger their actions exposed their baby to. To me, the “thank you” is a good first step to trying to make things right.

I’m giving credit for that one little act, and people are acting like I want the baby and free needles handed right to the mom.

My daughter is also a respiratory specialist, so I hear horror stories all the time from them, and gave them a shoulder to cry on when they were early in their careers having to deal with the emotional cost of having to see the death and preventable pain by so many children.
Like I said, it is a national disgrace. People talk all the time about the opioid crises.... but rarely the child victims which outnumber the addicts.

A recent fentanyl bust got enough of the drug to kill 50 million people. This of course had nothing to do with big pharma. Just the weakness of our border.
