PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Calling income inequality "the great moral issue of our time," Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders urged a boisterous crowd of thousands in Maine on Monday to help him transform America by restoring a thriving middle class.

Bernie Sanders Draws Huge Crowd In Maine

I think, this election, we can make a real change and get some hope back if we stop looking for the showman and start looking for the statesman. What is wrong with the people of this country? Aren't you tired of electing people who are so interested in their own propaganda, that forget about our citizens? Seriously, it's enough. As for Bernie...what do you think about him? Can he handle it?

Interesting to watch, and I'd guess (I'm lousy at this stuff) that he could be the one with the prize if Hillary implodes for some reason, but otherwise I don't see it happening.

He's going to pull Hillary to the Left, though, and we'll see if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Bernie Sanders is nuts.
Income inequality is a total fabrication designed to trick voters into believing that a socialist can even out income to the point that everyone can earn the same thing.
The effects of such a policy is to remove incentive to excel because there is only so much money one can make.
It only sounds good to someone who has no earning potential due to lack of education, lack of work ethic, or the simple fact that there isn't enough money to go around.
Imagine what would happen to the cost of living if everyone made the same thing.
The only way it would work is if the government kept all of the money and just gave everyone whatever they needed.....keeping the best for themselves of course.

Unlikely.

There are three groups Bernie would need to win over to overtake Hillary.

First, he'd have to win over minorities. He's made very little outreach there.

Second, the Wall Street Democrats would be dead set against him. Yes, he could win an early primary or two like Huckabee did on the GOP side in 2008. But the net result of that would be to harden their resolve to stop him. As much as he might appeal to a section of the base, you have to convince the money people you aren't a threat.

Third, he'd have to win over the Democratic Super Delegates- a lot of current and former office holders. and lest anyone forget - Bernie isn't even a Democrat!

Most Washington Democrats aren't really Democrats either.

Not a chance.

Bernie Sanders is the left version of Ron Paul. He will put on a show, and he will garner some interest but at the end of the day the Democrat Party will move quickly to keep him from being the Presidential Candidate of their party.

He would have been better off running third party if he really wanted to do something, but instead he ran Democrat.

Jim Webb is the only serious contender against Hillary when vying for the Democrat Ticket.

I think he is talking about inequality between men and women pay.

The political atmosphere in America is too polluted to have a serious discussion of almost any kind. Even someone as moderate as Sanders is already derided because of a simple scare-word/term. His chances seem very close to zero. It can only be hoped he can bring something interesting to the debate.

He will be destroyed by the establishment...that being the Ds, Rs, and the MSM. The billionaire class, of which Bernie regularly denounces, will not allow him to become POTUS.

IMO he would be better than nearly all the Rs running for POTUS and way better than the most corrupt person in national politics...Mrs. BJ Bubba Clinton.
