Could Holocaust & WW have been avoided by peace in 1940?

Holocaust began long before the war proper did.
That´s a widespread false assumption.
Nah, the national socialist party was inherently anti-Jewish and planned extermination was the plan all along

They were certainly anti-Jewish but there was no planned extermination and there is no proof whatsoever that there was.

The policy was one of evacuation and emigration.

The 'Final Solution' was to send the Jews of Europe to Madagascar.

Chamberlain in 1938 allowed Hitler to annex a part of Czechoslovakia hoping to secure peace in Europe. Look up: "Munich Agreement". Hitler later called the document a "scrap of paper". Hitler being the sick bastard he was, was intent on going to war.

Lots of people go to war, so he wasn't the only sick bastard.

People today are fed a sanitised line about events preceding WW2, its all very simple and clear cut quite unlike the reality.

Poland had a fascist dictatorship also.
German citizens were attacked and killed in pogroms.
Poland invaded and occupied parts of Lithuania.
German concerns for its citizens in Poland, Danzig and East Prussia and Sudetenland were as legitimate as US concerns for its overseas citizens.
A German invasion of Poland or Czechoslovakia should not have automatically meant a declaration of war by UK and France.

You have it wrong.
Hitler's letters are proof that he wanted to kill the Jews even before he got into power.
World War History Online - Hitler s letter - his plans to exterminate Jews goes on display

It would be two decades before he dreamt up his twisted Final Solution. But even in 1919 - at the age of just 29 - Adolf Hitler was already thinking about how to get rid of the entire Jewish population.
Hitler’s hatred of Jews can be traced back to his fury at Germany’s surrender in 1918, bringing to and end World War I. Foremost he blamed the Jews and thought that they betrayed the German nation.

Hitler was - as he admitted - inspirited by Ford´s books

That should be a general question among historians and interested people.
If France and Great Britain Would would not have declared war on Germany, would there ever have been the World War Two and the Holocaust?
How would things run in Europe with the NSDAP Government in charge from that point?
If Wilson had not sent our men to die uselessly in WW1, WW2 never would have occurred.

aside from that, Germany had no intentions of leaving France alone, and the round up was occurring anyway

Were the Germans all Nazis?

I don't believe so.

But most were happy to go along or at least not ask any questions. The non-Nazis that were in any way vocal were either killed or fled. "l know nothing" wasn't just something Sgt.Schultz said.
That was not the case. There were draconian punishments for those who joined consecrative SPD-meetings for example but it was about several months of penitentiary. After all, Germany had a regular justice even in this time. Accidently, I have a thread about this:

The holocaust had already begun by 1940. Need to hit your history books.

Hitler should have digested France and been content with that for awhile.

Had he not turned on Russia, France would be speaking German today.

Russia was concentrating troops at the demarcation line. Had Germany not attacked, Russia would have.

Lol, "his plan to exterminate the Jews" becomes "The earliest letter illustrating Hitler’s anti-Semitism", iow no plan to exterminate anyone...

..is that what you're trying to tell us glasshoppa? :eusa_whistle:

And Britain and France did not declare war on Germany before 1940?

Oh no. They had. But they should have invaded when he retook the Ruhr.
They should have been beaten in WWI already. Germany would not have treated them as bad as they treated Germany.

They wouldn't? What the hell are you smoking.

I fear, your reply doesn´t match with my posting somehow.
