Really? Whose babypowdered and diapered by the government little asses would be wailing the loudest if Big Brother didn't step in with a bailout? YOU, is who.

I say let 'em crash and burn. bailing them suits YOUR political ideology, not mine.

Guys, troubling as these takeover and bailouts have been to all of us (liberal nnd conservtives alike) I think that sans those bailouts the disruption of the ecomony might have been much worse.

This is NOT going to solve the problem in the long run however.

Those of you who complain that this is a stopgap measure and could actually make the next round of financial shocks to the sytem worse are, I think, spot on , too.

We cannot deindistrialize the nation;
open up our shores to free trade;
break the backs of the unions;
allow capital to flow OUT of the nation;
give tax breaks to billionaires and keep spending, too;
let the national debt get so high;
oversee the slow erosion of the middle class's ability to survive;
keep pumping fiat dollars into the system which causes the price of houses to get completely out of align with the average salary;

and NOT EXPECT that system to fail spectacularly, eventually.

Everything I have been complaining about for years, and warning people about for years, and been called a socialist, a stupid liberal, a communist, a terrorist lover, a loser (i could go on, but you get the idea) too, is coming to fruition.

I certainly hope you yuppies enjoyed your bimmers and your smug indifference to what happened to most of you fellow Americans, (those losers in your minds) because the piper called and he wants his due, now.

Since you're the guys with those sweet incomes, guess whose going to pay for those tunes THIS TIME?

Those billionaires whose asses you've been shoving your libertarian, Ayn Rand reading, I got mine get yours noses into?

won't all of these Banking/financial institution buy outs and mergers just put our financial system in to the hands OF THE VERY FEW and end up hurting us even more to have just a few institutions owning americans? They will be able to control the market, because of the lack of competition? 30% interest rates on credit cards and mortgages etc?

That's what I was thinking. I know zero about economics but I was wondering how the buyouts and mergers are not violating anti-trust legislation.
