Copacetic About The Nation's Future?

This is what Americans support.

Individualism
Free markets
Limited constitutional government.

And you?
No problem with those here.

of course Americans also support:
  • socialism & communism
  • environmental protection & developing natural resources
  • Dems & GOP
  • evolution & creationism/ID
  • charity & justice
  • etc.

"No problem with those here."

Then you voted for Trump over Hillary?

Or are you lying?
I'm fine with what you listed but it was hardly a complete set of my values. Honesty and civility are also on my list and Trump comes up short on both. There are other values I hold to that would influence my choices.

Non sequitur.
No it was sequitur. I felt her list was incomplete since she doesn't speak for all Americans.

Here's the choice.

a. individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government.

or

b. the collective, command and control regulation of private industry, and overarching government that can order every aspect of the private citizen's life....right down to control of his thoughts and speech.

Who'd you vote for?
You mean Strawman 1 or Strawman 2?

Individualism - as long as you conform to while culture.

Free markets - with tariffs

Limited constitutional government - unless one wants to control number of children they have, who can marry....

Asked twice, but declined to answer, Trump or Hillary.

The answer must be one that would prove you a liar.

Nothing new.

I'm not ashamed to say I voted for Hillary. I am saddened that you can reduce the complex issues to two polar opposites that are representative of neither candidate.

If you want to contrast free markets and the collective, command and control regulation of private industry, please explain how tariffs fit in. Here are some snippets about a candidate who is willing to intervene in global markets:
  • May 26, 2017: At a meeting of European Union leaders in Brussels on Thursday, President Donald Trump bashed Germany for the volume of cars it exports to the U.S., reports German publication Der Spiegel, citing unnamed meeting participants. “The Germans are bad, very bad … See the millions of cars they are selling to the U.S. Terrible. We will stop this,” Trump reportedly said.
  • U.S. President Donald Trump pushed the chief executives of General Motors Co, Ford Motor Co and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV on Tuesday to increase production in the United States and boost American employment.

Come back when you realize that politics in this country is binary, or when you graduate junior high.....whichever comes first.....dope.

You say that like it is a good thing. Do you prefer a polarized political arena where one side wins and the other loses? Or would you prefer one where compromise is the order of the day and no one gets everything they want but everyone gets something? In the former little or nothing gets done short of nuclear options, it is like throwing sand in the gears. The later is akin to oiling the gears.

I'm more of an analog kind of guy and like the expression:

“The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm.”
― Confucius

Substitute 'country' for 'green reed' and 'mighty oak' and you get the idea. Only someone who hates this country would want to see it break again. Or a foreign power...

Not over yet!!!!!

"What happened next was remarkable. Katz crushed Cabán among absentee voters to the point where she now leads by 16 votes. Among veteran watchers of New York politics, the disappearance of the deficit was startling, because the results from the absentee pool rarely differ so dramatically from those that vote on Election Day.

In the seven-way contest (one candidate dropped out before election day but remained on the ballot), Katz won about 56 percent of absentees, compared to Cabán’s paltry 22 percent. Rather than indicating some sort of Queens machine chicanery, that outcome suggested Katz, a veteran of many campaigns, targeted the sort of voters—senior citizens in particular—who regularly vote without going to the polls.

With the margin so close, an automatic recount has been triggered. It will begin next week."
