"Are condoms and birth control pills more cost effective than windmills and solar panels as tools to curb global warming?

Yes, and by a wide margin, contends a recent study from the London School of Economics asserting that family planning is nearly five times more cost effective in mitigating global warming emissions than green energy technologies like wind and solar power.

Each $7 spent on basic family planning over the next four decades would reduce global CO2 emissions by more than a ton. To achieve the same result with low-carbon technologies would cost a minimum of $32. The UN estimates that 40 percent of all pregnancies worldwide are unintended."

Instead of condoms and birth control pills, just encourage people to do like the porn actors do. The guy always pulls out just before ejaculating, so no babies!

Who knew internet porn could saved the world!!!!

I notice that these people don't kill themselves. Why do they insist on destroying Earth?

Sorry, I need to feel her loving passionate liquid and give her mine. I want to feel it real.

It is not real sex unless there is risk.

Still, I want her on birth control and would tie my tubes if it were not a crime against the better genes in human nature.

The video seems more like an anti-immigration video in the guise of environmentalism.

What does "anti" immigration mean?

This green 'strategy' should be aimed at the African continent and the Middle East and the Far East. The average number of children per mother on the African continent is.........SEVEN!! That's children, not miscarriages or stillbirths included, live births. That's the average.

Yet our homegrown Republicans see fit to go on missions and make birth control and family planning a no-no over there. How 'Christian' of them. Especially when there's not enough to eat, 3/4 to 4/5 of the population contract AIDS and there are more failed states than you can shake a stick at.

At best, we are slightly below replacement levels, and declining every year. This is a consumer economy at odds with its finite resources. The birthrate doesn't enter into it......wrong hemisphere.

Let me google that for you

That's really cute.......honestly. :clap2: However, with over 15 million unemployed Americans it's very obvious you don't care about them. Being "anti-immigration" is what we need now. We don't need to let in more people to compete with 15 million unemployed Americans.

By the way. In terms of energy, use of resources and infrastructure, people living in the U.S. will put a foot print on the world about forty times greater than someone living in an underdeveloped part of the world. You probably don't understand this but try.

I'll repeat what I said...........In terms of energy, use of resources and infrastructure, people living in the U.S. will put a foot print on the world about forty times greater than someone living in an underdeveloped part of the world. Yes we need to be concerned about population growth.

They're absolutely right, of course,

And FWIW, mass suicide or mass genocide are both even greener policy decisions than contraception.

You first, amigo!

I think there's about five billion too many people if we hope to have a planet of people living the good life thanks to technology.

And yes, I picked that number out of the air. Feel free to make up your own numbers if you've a mind to.

...

I was at Jiffy Lube on Saturday and got to listen to a couple black guys talk while I tried to read the paper. Between the two of them, I'd say they had about 15 kids. No kidding. (Of course it was difficult to understand them most of the time.) Each one had been married at least 3 times and had kids from each marriage. Yes, it's certainly a problem. Planned Parenthood is doing their best to keep the black population in check, but the government keeps subverting their work by providing for their every need.
