Torn between reality and their political dreams, leading conservatives are defending Mitt Romney's private sector success and acknowledging that his presidential nomination may be inevitable even as they search for a more palatable candidate.

"Honestly, it looks like Gov. Romney's nomination is inevitable," said the Rev. Robert Jeffress, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Dallas and a supporter of Texas Gov. Rick Perry. "Evangelicals, come November, might have to hold their noses and vote for the lesser of two evils. But it's not November yet."

What is it with these conservatives?

Are they that desperate that they'll give the nomination to someone they do NOT consider conservative?

Does that mean that someone they DO consider a REAL conservative could never be elected President?

If I need a new ride and want a pickup truck...but I cant afford it.
But I can afford an SUV and I can afford a compact car.
I would go for the SUV

Seems you think I should not get anything at all

A liberal D or a liberal R.

I can barely contain my excitement for the election.......................

The rabid Conservatives are, in fact and by the grace of God, a distinct yet vocal minority in America. Every election they claim they want the closest thing to anarchy by ridding the federal government of tax revenue, regulatory power and largess to the poor. They stomp and whine like so many petulant toddlers when the party they themselves support gives the nomination to yet another old white rich man who does not believe the same dreck they hold as sacrosanct.

This opens the old meme they love to chant: the Liberal media has chosen the Republican candidate.

They're just laying the groundwork for their giant whine fest. Happens every four years.

They're buying into teaparty rhetoric. It's always something with them, they can never put someone up who would simply be good in the job. That person also must be pliable for their interests.

When ideology trumps pragmatism, you get the Tea Party!
