On this board. I've been perusing threads and it seems like the pro-Trump fervor has died down significantly. Now they are starting to grumble about him a bit, and instead of praising the orange god, they are turning more strongly toward lambasting the things they don't like (Obama, socialism, illegal immigrants, etc.) as well as some things they actually like but pretend not to (29-year old latina congresswomen).

Am I on the money with this assessment of the mood and general atmosphere? I feel like I'm on the money.

Conservatives are fighting – and losing – a multi-front war.

Defending Trump’s lies and idiocy, and defending failed, wrongheaded conservative dogma, is taking its toll.

Conservatives know Trump’s ‘wall’ of fear, bigotry, and hate isn’t going to happen, yet they’re forced to waste political, time, energy, and resources defending that which cannot be defended.

A majority of Americans oppose Trump’s ‘wall’ of fear, bigotry, and hate, and blame Trump and the GOP for the government shutdown.

Democrats have taken control of the House killing the Trump/GOP agenda (and thankfully so), the Mueller investigation continues to do irreparable political damage to Trump, and the dysfunctional Trump WH grows more dysfunctional as it mishandles one crisis or controversy after another.

It’s not a good time to be a rightist.

Actually,I disagree with the OP.
Little Trumpsters don't care if Trump likes to govern by chaos, deception and incompetency. His approach of using his gut feelings gamble and following TV personalities instead of expert opinions is just fine with the Little Trumpsters.
Great leaders are open minded and and take responsibly for their actions instead of blaming everyone else when things go wrong.
Great leaders listen to all his citizens
Great leaders have empathy and would never do something that he knows would hurt great numbers of his citizens, because of his obsessions.
Great leaders have morals.
Trump is clearly not a great leader.
But his Little Trumpsters, will just make excuses and use questionable alternative facts to protect their god, and they are more than happy to do it.

The only time they seem truly happy is when a public figure who they voted for earlier passes away; first with McCain and then the elder Bush. It is strange.
