Diamond Moves Second Drilling Rig Out of Gulf

Diamond Offshore Drilling said Monday it would move a second deepwater rig out of the Gulf of Mexico to waters off the Republic of Congo due to a U.S. drilling moratorium, and the industry expects others to follow.

The U.S. government issued a revised moratorium on deepwater oil drilling on Monday, which it said would last until Nov. 30. An earlier drilling suspension, issued on May 27, was lifted by a U.S. Appeals Court on July 8.

The government had imposed the six month moratorium on drilling in water more than 500 feet deep after the April 20 blowout on a Transocean-owned RIG that caused a catastrophic oil spill.

Diamond's move is with the same customer, Murphy Oil, but the old four-year contract running to March 2012 has been restructured into a one-year Gulf of Mexico commitment set to restart when Murphy feels it can get permits and meet regulatory requirements.

On Friday, Diamond became the first company to pull a rig out of the Gulf of Mexico because of the deepwater moratorium.

I believe they said NO because before they were saying YES and now Obama is doing much of the same programs that got us where the Dem/Rep congress got us. Many people (citizens) knew it was all a load of crap but now word has spread. Rep's and Dems were buying votes with programs, but as everything fell apart now to buy votes you have to say NO to Government growth.


It's really not that hard to understand. You just want "your team" to win even though "your team" helped make the mess. You act as though there has not been a Democrat congress for almost 4 years, you act as though Obama slowed everything down from falling apart and that is somehow is a good thing even though it cost us trillions and has only made things continue to fall apart.

By the time Bush was done most Republicans didn't like him... almost all Democrats hated him and independents didn't like Bush... Why would people like Obama when he is doing near everything the same, only on crack?

Stimulus = same/more
War = same/more
Health care = same/more (Bush had medicare part D!!!)
Illegal Immigration = same/more (At least Bush didn't attack states and citizens to push his cause)
