The REALITY is that most Americans want COMPETENT big government. The problem we've had though over the past couple of decades is that big government has been anything but competent. The GOP is basically the tool of the very wealthy. Tax cuts for those at the very top just doesn't cut it any more. You never hear them discussing reducing the corporate tax rate though which is currently at around 40%. I wonder why that is?

I do know almost all the economists with their economic forecasts have consistently had it all wrong.

I do know things always get better.

but, things were pretty darned good before the GOP brought things into the toilet.

The GOP when they were in power have ruined things, and the Democrats when they are in power fix things.

And if the Republicans gain strength in the Congress, which they probably will, then we can look forward to two years of "NO", if not from the right, from left.

The American public doesn't give a tinker's dam about right and left wing political philosophies, they just want congressmen to do their job which hasn't happened in a long time. Congressmen have lost the art of negotiation. People complain that Congressmen don't even read the bills. Others complain about the size and complexity of the bills. In today's political climate, a congressman doesn't need to know anything about a bill. He just needs to vote as directed by the party.
