Conservatives, Lobbyists and big corp. special interests win out on healthcare

Looks like the only thing that people counted on the dems and Obama to get right is FUCKED.

If you were stupid enough to vote for either one, then I would say you got what you deserved. Congratulations!

If you ever wanted to know the exact hold corporate lobbyists and special interest groups have on Washington this is it. DESPITE opinion poll after opinion poll that stated the majority of Americans want a public option in healthcare reform it like a big fuck you to Americans is being dropped from the compromised plan! oh well I say vote these fuck ups out of washington in the mid terms and as far as health care goes I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS BULLSHIT OUT OF WASHINGTON! I have been without healthcare since 2003 so doesnt make a lick of difference to me anymore.

Without health care, or without insurance?
Have doctors been refusing to treat you for some sort of illness since 2003?
Tell the truth please.

Go to most doctor's offices without insurance, and you are SOL if you don't have the money to pay up front. You might be able to afford a physician's exam, and may an injection or two...but beyond that (radiology, lab work) if you can't pay....they won't do it. Unless you are critical. Unless you are appear to be having a heart attack, stroke, etc...

I'm not sure that anyone is blaming the Republicans for the delay.

In the post started by Jim H52, he posted the Yahoo news/AP article:

"Analysis: Tough decision time for Obama on health"

An exerpt: "He's going to have to choose pretty soon," Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, said Tuesday.

If Obama decides to run roughshod over the Republicans, Graham said, "he'll ruin his administration" by destroying his image as a political healer under a big tent.

Some Republicans are turning up the heat on him. Part of politics.

Read his response he specifically blames the GOP. Last I checked that is Republicans. The Republicans have no power in this congress. They can accomplish NOTHING without Democratic support. One can not blame Republicans for any thing in this Congress since the Democrats have the votes in both houses to simply ignore the republicans. And they can prevent any filibusters as well.

Blaming the Republicans is akin to claiming your 5 year old son is responsible for the failure of the household paying the bills.

This is true. Technically, Republicans have little to no control over what happens. But they can make the president and the democrats miserable and trash their names to people who believe everything that they hear. Example-some of the junk that is being circulated about the healthcare proposal. Some people are just too lazy to find out the facts before believing everything they read.
The Repugs have no..... say...... in..... this. At all. No power whatsoever. Are you saying the 53 "Blue Dog" Dems in the House holding this deal up are listening to Republicans?

To me, here's where Obama himself screwed this up:

Instead of rolling up his sleeves and crafting a draft of a HCR bill himself, then getting a "Blue Dog Coalition" to flesh it out and sponsor it, he just tosses the ball to those two complete moonbat IDIOTS Pelosi and Reid. They THEY delegated this to a couple of lapdogs to pad and sponsor, after they did the basic draft. And made it far too radical for their OWN party to swallow.

I believe the blame for this failure, IF it fails, is on Obama himself. He's a friggin lawyer and a former Senator, he could have ghost written this bill, gave it a better start, and probably could have gotten it passed pretty easily. And should have simply proposed fixing the leaky roof and the bad steps on the porch, fixing the plumbing and the electrical, draining the bathwater and drawing new, instead of throwing the baby out with the bath water and tearing the whole house down and building a new, TRILLION dollar one.

This is now the THIRD time he's relied on Pelosi and Reid, and so far they are batting 0-3, with Cap and Trade obviously DOA in the Senate now.

Obama needs to start learning from his mistakes and realize that his Congress is the SAME one Bush had and IS the problem.

I am not uninsured now. But I was for 2 years in my 20's. I had to get an MRI without insurance during that time. OUCH. Really, unless you are critical, you don't get much healthcare if you're uninsured.

Well, that wasn't the question I asked now, was it?
But then I didn't ask you either.

Hmmm....are you in the same boat as lld (doesn't the mean, are you going through the same thing. Or were you asking if I'd been without healthcare for 6 years? Or do I just speak for him? I'll play dumb...huh?

Don't forget that card check died a most unholy death!!
Yes that makes the batting average 0-4. Thanks for the remainder!

the ap reported the public option being dropped today and its on cbsnews.com..

After weeks of secretive talks, a bipartisan group in the Senate edged closer Monday to a health care compromise that omits two key Democratic priorities but incorporates provisions to slow the explosive rise in medical costs, officials said.

These officials said participants were on track to exclude a requirement many congressional Democrats seek for businesses to offer coverage to their workers. Nor would there be a provision for a government insurance option, despite President Barack Obama's support for such a plan.

A doctors visit is only between 50 and 75 bucks. And the other services are available at the hospital and they will provide it even with no money. I know my son has no health insurance and he has gone at least 3 times. I pay for the doctor visit, but not the Hospital visits when they are to much for me to afford.

However our hospital knocks 30 to 40 percent off the bill if you pay with in 30 days.

Or hear? That sounds exactly like what happened during the election campaign.

they're fighting a retreat LLD.

They know perfectly well that their days are numbered because they know better than most of the players here know, that the system is falling apart.

Still, they're going to keep trying to prevent this nation from changing the system because they make billions right now.

Have no fear, sooner or later we're going to change this system.

In fact, the invisible hand of the market is rapidly changing it even as we speak.

As thousands of formerly insured people find themselves without insurance because they've lost their jobs, the support for private insurance continues to decline.

Not that I think anyone has a solution, of course.

I'm just saying that what is in place now is doomed.

Yes, that IS the issue. If you go to the emergency room for a cough (which is common) it costs more, it takes rooms, occasionally from the critically ill. Imagine rolling through the doors with a patient either intubated or on CPAP, and having to wait a couple of minutes while rooms are shifted around....praying to God that the oxygen tank doesn't bleed out. The emergency room is NOT the answer. People going to the emergency room and treating it like their own personal clinic, is one of the reasons that healthcare is as expensive as it is. But often, they have no choice. And physicians will tell some people: "This is not an emergency. Go and see you PCP". They hand them a "Z pack", and send them home.

I've seen it hundreds of times. I'm not talking out of my behind. So we are going to pay, whether or not there is healthcare reform. Doctors, nurses, and paramedics are obviously not going to work for free.
