Conservatives in Wash st thinking of moving to Texas

Dan Evans R was a 4 term gov.

Wash was a more conservative state back then.

Was a news item in the Seattle Times.

They think the state of Washington and esp Seattle area are pagan - with the slam-dunk wins for gay marriage, legal pot, another Dem gov elected over a more qualified opp (longest steak of dem govs in the nation etc...) Obama wins big etc.....

I moved there for a few years and enjoyed the weather, and the progressive Dallas County area, not to mention great steaks.

But, the Seattle area is just too beautiful to leave, permanently. So the two or three Conservatives, here, who leave, might be back, fingers crossed .... uh excuse me ....

...

...

...

Sorry; I got choked up at the thought of losing them, babyjesus forbid.

Anyway, please Seattle Cons, hurry back soon. I miss all ya'll already.

hahahahahahahahahaha

An excellent idea. IN FACT all conservatives should look at a move to Texas for when they secede. (Voluntarily, of course). It's a Win for Washington and a Win for Texas.
We're not seceding.

Why do you hate Texas?

Considering gay people being able to get married and me smoking pot on the street in Capitol Hill does absolutely nothing to effect these conservative retards in any way, I can't wait to see how they'd react when they reach a place that demands conformity like Texas. And this whole thing is just bitching and whining anyway. Why the type of bitching you'd hear about a Thanksgiving table is now news is beyond me.

By the way, nothing has changed since these laws passed. People were smoking on the streets to disinterested stares from cops since I was born here. And gays have been out and unafraid again since I can remember. This whole thing is stupid.

Because by and large it's conservative usually that's all it takes for a liberal to hate a person or a state.

Many people move to Texas (and Florida) when starting a business, since taxes are much lower.
What you highlighted may have simply been the icing on the cake for some people who were already considering making the move.

Along with test scores and the overall quality of education.

You get what you pay for.

Yes, having to educate the swarms of illegal aliens' children that have no education and speak no English will tend to drag test scores down!

True, percentage wise. But mostly that's in rule (Texan for not urban) parts of the Great State. Add some tall buildings, good jobs, education, prosperity, and it goes all liberal and shit on ya'll.

Actually that would be rural not rule thanks for the liberal version though I got a nice laugh from it.

In unemployment ranking Texas is 16 at 6.6% Washington is 34 at 8.2% does tend to explain why people like coming to Texas. Here are the bottom ten states when it comes to unemployment rankings.
NEW YORK 8.7
ILLINOIS 8.8
MISSISSIPPI 8.9
CONNECTICUT 9.0
MICHIGAN 9.1
NORTH CAROLINA 9.3
NEW JERSEY 9.7
CALIFORNIA 10.1
RHODE ISLAND 10.4
NEVADA 11.5
Eight of those ten are Democrat states hmmm.
a large amount of the jobs that Texas creates are low income, low skill jobs.

Many of the positions that have been created are on the lower end of the pay scale. Some 550,000 workers last year were paid at or below the federal minimum wage of $7.25, more than double the number making those wages in 2008, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

So which would be preferable those jobs or no job?

thats not part of the argument, the claim was that people come to texas for the jobs since the state has created thousands of jobs recently. rational logic would tell you that people do not move to new states to accept wages at or below minimum wage.

Give them 2 monthes and they would want to be back in Washington

If not, less right wing nut jobs for the state

Rational logic though tells you people stay where there are no jobs interesting logic.
