This is a faulty conclusion.

While it's true that the ridiculously overeducated are usually Liberal, I think it makes more sense to assume that those who seek degree after degree are of a Liberal mind bent before the process begins.

What you say could be applied to many areas. As a person sees more doctors, he tends to become more sick. See the trap here? He was already sick and the more sick he was, the more doctors he saw. It's likely that if he was not at all sick, he would not have seen a doctor until he turned 50 and need "that" examination.

Those who gauge intelligence by the credentials conferred, and who feel self worth as a result of those credentials, seek more. There are those who gain self worth from wealth, from family, from physical achievemnet or authority. There is no0thing intrisically good or bad about it, but saying that more education causes more liberalism is just not a supportable line of logic.

The world of theory does not always lend itself to the real world. The further from reality one wanders, the more Liberal one is apt to become.

I'll buy most of that... but I'll add that Leftist academics tend to remain such because they lack the courage to apply their knowledge... The real word rejects most of the idiocy to which they cling, so they remain cloistered amongst those who produce that which they crave... validation. The same can be said for the 'theory' to which you spoke.. accept it is invalid theory which doesn't translate to reality...

Most of the 'theories' advanced by the academics of Social Science are aburd and have long since been discredited in every 'experiment' which has tested them... so where one NEEDS those theories to remain worthy of consideration, one must remain in close proximity to the other idiots who NEED it just as much as they do... lest the entire house of cards quickly comes to the calamity which its design otherwise assures.
