Conservatives Attempt To Go (back to the future) Racist On Obama

A group of high-profile Republican strategists has put forward a plan that calls for running commercials linking Mr. Obama to incendiary comments by his former spiritual adviser, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., whose race-related sermons made him a highly charged figure in the 2008 campaign. What follows is the full proposal.

“Not only was this plan merely a proposal — one of several submitted to the Ending Spending Action Fund by third-party vendors — but it reflects an approach to politics that Mr. Ricketts rejects, and it was never a plan to be accepted but only a suggestion for a direction to take,” Brian Baker, president of the fund, said in a statement.

RNC Chief to Say It Was 'Wrong' to Exploit Racial Conflict for Votes

It was called "the southern strategy," started under Richard M. Nixon in 1968, and described Republican efforts to use race as a wedge issue -- on matters such as desegregation and busing -- to appeal to white southern voters.

Ken Mehlman, the Republican National Committee chairman, this morning will tell the NAACP national convention in Milwaukee that it was "wrong."

"By the '70s and into the '80s and '90s, the Democratic Party solidified its gains in the African American community, and we Republicans did not effectively reach out," Mehlman says in his prepared text. "Some Republicans gave up on winning the African American vote, looking the other way or trying to benefit politically from racial polarization. I am here today as the Republican chairman to tell you we were wrong."

You're conflating two separate issues.

But you knew that, didn't you?

you refuse to see two things as same old shit.

but then again, your world view would be at risk, wouldn't it?

Maybe not another dupe thread, just one more Dante stupid thread.

The race card is not the last card in the deck. It's next to the last card. The last card is the violence card. It's time to throw it down.

You're conflating two separate issues.

But you knew that, didn't you?

you refuse to see two things as same old shit.
I refuse to share your fantasy.
but then again, your world view would be at risk, wouldn't it?
Unlike you leftists, I'm not afraid of differing points of view.

But, hey, don't let anything get in the way of your "GOP is BAAAAAAD!!" programming.

irrationality and ignorance are not differing points of view

Only about the 3rd thread on this.

are cons burying threads again? I found one, but it is an off topic thread about -- other than what you claim it is about.

As already correctly noted – this ‘strategy’ failed 4 years ago, it will fail now. Voters will see it for the desperation it is.

And unsurprisingly, most of the usual suspects from the right fail to address the thread topic.

No one but right wing whack-a-doodles care about Rev Wright

true stroy

no, you've just been told by your masters not to give a shit who someone associates with unless they have an (R) next to their name...trying thinking for yourself once in a while.
