The Republicans are becoming as divided as the Democrats usually are.

Becoming? They've been divided for at least 10 years. This country needs more independents.

The way I'm reading it, it's less division and more a lack of willingness to settle for gutless wimps, who trade their principles for thirty pieces of silver.

In that case, the Democrat Party is more than welcome to take the religious fundie nutbars...The 50% who haven't been voting is a much bigger pool to fish in for votes than that which holds the 10%-er squishy, knock-me-over-with-a-feather "moderates".
