Conservative Hypocrisy

Conservatives are for smaller and less expensive, confusing and complicated bureaucracy. Maybe that's a foreign concept on the left coast which is drowning under a sea of red tape with confiscatory taxes to fund useless bureaucratic bull shat. Abortions are an expensive waste of human life and even Bill Clinton said he wanted to keep them rare. Abortion is still legal but Conservatives don't want to pay for them. That should be easy enough to understand even to victims of the sub-standard union based left coast education system.

Really? Conservatives are for smaller government?

Wanna talk about the mandatory ultra sound laws they want passed for those receiving abortions?

Wanna talk about conservatives who are pushing to have welfare recepients drug tested?

Both of those things would take a LOT of government to enforce and make happen.

But...................keep on with your "smaller government" fantasy that you conservatives hold dear to.

Put plainly: conservatives want a country where they get big government
benefits and small government restrictions, while imposing small government benefits
and big government restrictions on everybody else.

Despite claiming to support a small and unobtrusive government, the
conservative movement has pushed heavily for increased governmental regulations
on personal activities that they find objectionable—gay marriage and abortion
rights being the most common things that modern conservatives decry and attempt
to legislate away.

Conservatives don’t see these restrictions as “big government
overreach” simply because such regulations don’t overreach into THEIR lives,
only the lives of others. The conservative hypocrisy in the realm of social
issues is indicative of their ideological mindset and gives us a clear look
into the conservative views on the size of government.

If conservatives truly claim to be about small government and personal responsibility, they why do they consistently act counter to this claim?

I think this explains why the left coast is truly the land of fruits and nuts.
better than the land of the poor and ignorant like the south and midwest.

Oh, so now everyone that fails to agree with your position is ignorant, interesting, so am I now to conclude you know what is best for everyone? Rather elitist wouldn't you say? How special you must be.

too silly!!!You've got economic conservatives, who believe in small government, confused with social conservatives who generally don't.

Our Founders were strict social conservatives who were content with the church's description and enforcement of family values. But, now that the liberals have virtually killed the church and so the family most conservatives are grudgingly willing to let government take over the churches' former role.

This is especially true when they look at the liberals near genocidal war on the black family!!

"We could survive slavery, we could survive Jim Crow, but we could not survive liberalism".- Walter Williams

Even in the antebellum era, when slaves often weren't permitted to wed, most black children lived with a biological mother and father. During Reconstruction and up until the 1940s, 75% to 85% of black children lived in two-parent families. Today, more than 70% of black children are born to single women. “The welfare state has done to black Americans what slavery couldn’t do, what Jim Crow couldn’t do, what the harshest racism couldn’t do,” Mr. Williams says. “And that is to destroy the black family
we can stay on the economic conservative issue.

Not long after George W. Bush signed the bill, then-Republican Majority Leader Bill Frist was on "Hardball." Chris Mathews asked, "What was your biggest achievement this year?"
Frist: "I would have to say Medicare. Eleven months ago, the odds of getting a Medicare prescription drug [bill] through were probably 400-to-one, 500-to-one. ... So that clearly is our biggest single accomplishment, if you look at the last 30 years in this country."
A $400 billion entitlement expansion as the "biggest single accomplishment" in three decades? Yes, that came from a Republican leader.
Fiscal conservative hypocrisy is so rampant we take it for granted. This is Eric Cantor, a Republican House leader, at a press conference two months ago: "Once again we see the Democrats asking to incur more debt at the same time they are claiming to be fiscally responsible; another day where it is more of, ‘Do as I say, not as I do.'"Ahem. Cantor lobbied hard for the Medicare bill. And he too voted for it
Republican Senate leader John Boehner has been a relentless critic of Democratic spending. For years Boehner has said and written statements like this: "Will we take the initiative to make the necessary yet difficult choices to save Medicare, or will we become the political equivalent of the ostrich, sticking our head in the sand?"
When Republicans had their big chance in power to make "difficult choices" on big government, Boehner also chose the $400 billion bill.

I for one believe welfare recipients should be drug tested. Think of all the lab tech jobs it would create, revenue generation, future tax receipts, and at the same insure all tax paying citizens that their tax dollars are truly going to support those in need and not some crack head life style. One could well state that it creates a sense of accountability.

and now you want to legislate morality? good luck with that.

dear, the left destroyed morality with there socialist entitlement mentality and near genocidal war on the family. So yes it can be legislated

Do you even know the meaning of the word "genocide"? If not look it up.

You can't have a genocidal war against an ideal, only against an ethnic group.

You poor lemmings have been listening to the shrill right wing fear mongering so long that you've lost the actual meaning of the words you use.

Yes, that came from a Republican leader.

so what?? we all know independents decide elections so neither party can be pure. Being so would be suicidal. If Republicans were pure they would merely be 100% impotent Libertarians.
Is this really over your head?

They're still legislating it.

For example, we are obligated, by law, to provide birth control and fund planned parenthood services....which in turn subsidizes a lifestyle that we have no interest in subsidizing and wouldn't subsidize if we weren't forced to do so.

That's what is known as legislating morality.

Florida tried it. It didn't work. As a matter of fact, the program ended up putting them in a deficit.

And.................know what they DID prove? Welfare recepients used drugs at a rate LOWER than the general population.

just because you disagree with how someone else lives their life, doesnt mean that their life is immoral. it is our right to live our lives anyway we want without interference from you or anyone else.

Its true but being less educated and from less dynamic societies they are less liberal and so retain the superior social values from the founding to the 1950's when America worked.

you are not obligated or mandated to take anything, however making goods and services readily available for individuals to choose from is not an infringement on rights. if you disagree with the good or services then dont use it.

there is no evidence or correlation that being liberal means you are less moral. there is ample evidence that conservative are trying to legislate their beliefs back into society however.

who would say the liberal near genocidal war on the black family was a good thing about whcih we are obligated to be judgement free. Are you judgement free about the Holocaust too?
