I DID support the EPA when it was first set up. It did a tremendous job at the beginning. Now it is a political arm of whoever the POTUS is which is a violation of the intent of the organization. And yes, I LOVE critters. I don't think we should drill in ANWR. It's simply not necessary. The risk to the region outweighs the benefits.

I follow the mantra of old, "think globally, act locally". If we would all just keep OUR areas clean, the rest will be much easier to maintain as well. The difference between conservationists and environmentalists is politics.

Conservationists DON'T want to control other peoples lives save in a very limited way, "don't kill those animals over there, buy that land here to provide space for those critters there, don't build that power plant there, instead place it where it won't affect such a large amount of critters" etc.

Environmentalists though...they are a different breed entirely, they WANT to control every aspect of your life. Where, and how you can travel. What you can eat and drink. How you have to live, in what sort of small apartment they have decided is best for you. Etc. etc. etc.
