Congressman Ron Paul Urges Afghanistan Withdrawal - July 18 2012...

Paul should be running against Obama, not Mitt... Paul grows the party, he pulls indys, Dems and Republicans because he is not a fraud. Sadly we have 2 frauds to vote for in the GE, good thing I can do a write in.

Chair recognizes the gentleman from Texas, for what "purpose"? - Ron Paul, I move to strike the last word ...

maybe the Chair wasn't informed ahead of time - or it wasn't the first speech given by RP and the Chair was just a little curious what (Grandstanding) it was going to be this time -

Casualties of the September 11 attacks

The terrorist September 11 attacks by Al-Qaeda resulted in almost 3000 immediate (attack time) deaths, including the 19 hijackers and 2,977 victims.[1] Three hundred seventy-two foreign nationals (excluding the 19 perpetrators) perished in the attacks, representing just over 12% of the total.

War in Afghanistan (2001

War in Afghanistan

The primary driver of the invasion was the September 11 attacks on the United States, with the stated goal of dismantling the al-Qaeda terrorist organization and ending its use of Afghanistan as a base. The United States also said that it would remove the Taliban regime from power and create a viable democratic state.

Ron Paul - The War in Afghanistan

In 2002, Congressman Paul noted in a floor speech that war with Afghanistan was simply no longer necessary. He noted that the people who attacked us had already been defeated and to further destroy Afghanistan only to rebuild it out of some misplaced sense of duty was simply not necessary.

The United States also said that it would remove the Taliban regime from power and create a viable democratic state.

most would agree with RP about the Iraqi war even if for different reasons.

The Afghanistan war is another matter - where its complications mostly arose from the distractions caused by the Republican war in Iraqi.

The Taliban were responsible for allowing OBL the time and support for the attack against the American people on 911 2001 inflicting approximately 3000 casualties.

only half the job has been completed, the Taliban should receive the same fate as OBL and the country be established as a Democracy as was the declared intent at the beginning of the war as reprisal for the harm caused by them to the United States.

Ron Paul: "He noted that the people who attacked us had already been defeated" ??? -

RP is simply unwilling to allow any Government to function in fulfilling its stated goals and would be willing to allow the Taliban to reassert its will on the hapless Afghanistan population than allow for a successful resolution to the conflict by the American Government.

Nothin but net right there from the good Doctor.

That's why the GOP establishment hates Paul. He's strongly against all the warmongering and insane spending to bankroll the weapons contractors, one of the cores of the right.
