every state has always set who could be on their ballot, it has never been a federal matter. That is why this past election Edvan McMullin was only on the ballot in 12 states and not them all. It is why you do not have 1000 people to choose from when you vote for President or anyone else.

I think a presidential candidate requirement in Texas should be that said candidate can never have participated in any anti-American group or espoused any anti-American position, defined solely by the Republican governor of Texas, which will include communist/marxist/socialist ideologies. The Senate is the most corrupt entity in the US at the present time. To make it all murkier, some guys are there to try and actually do a good job, but the majority is there to take bribes, vote for the bribers" best interest, get paid and go home. All with impugnity from prosecution for doing so.

All the presidential candidates of the last few decades have released their tax returns before the election. At least the Democrats and Republicans (except for Trump), I'm not sure about all the Libertarians and independents and whatever small parties.

I do think presidential elections should be regulated on federal level, requiring uniformity in ballots and whatnot. However, if it is done like that, it should also be based on the popular vote and not the EC.
