Contemplating the Sotomayer confirmation. Weighing the pros and cons of health care, all under the guise of "reform". Passing a "family" tobacco legislation bill -- LOL!

    Betcha missed THIS one....

Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act -
Vote Passed (258-154, 1 Present, 20 Not Voting)

The House approved this bill that would provide paid leave to federal employees for 4 of the 12 weeks of parental leave available to them.
    Congress.org - Key Votes

Rep. Steven Rothman (D-NJ) voted YES

Way to go Steve! Always interesting to me how they have no problem voting for increases in pay or benefits for themselves. Now, do you suppose this paid leave is going to trickle down to everyone else eventually?

Meanwhile, Obama is trying to tax those of us who HAVE health-care provided by our work for that health care, so we can fund health care for those who DON'T work...

And we're having mandatory furlough days piled on us....btw, "mandatory furlough" = you can't work, and you won't be paid, this many days.

The distractions about lame jokes and birth certificates is working!

Who'd have figured that our media controlled masses would not have noticed the politicians giving themselves more money.

This isn't really for Politicians. Once a politician is elected, they don't really have to show up if they don't want, they just won't be re-elected. Its for federal employees, and thats really who will benefit.

Hey, aren't those the same federal employees that are paid by tax money? Or are these different federal employees?

Very good.... And they would be the same federal employees who are, somehow, different from us peon municipal [or state] employees, and all you non-government employees....

Yes, it is. But charges of them "voting for themselves" are pretty baseless.

Umm, theres a difference between bestowing rights upon people and mandating that they be bestowed. Congress has some responsibility for federal employees, in fact a greater responsibility than they do for non-federal employees. And I'm sure many in Congress would really prefer to include all individuals in this. Too bad the Republicans would block that in a heartbeat...so you can blame them for you not getting this privilege as well.

"You must spread some reputation around before giving it to KittenKoder again"

Would be useful if the media-controlled masses signed up for legislative updates, wouldn't it? :eusa_whistle:

Does the word 'nepotism' mean anything to you?
