My Dad always said that if he had a daughter in the whore house and a son in the navy, he would get the son out of the navy first. My brothers and I all joined the Army.

Did you attempt to influence him to join the Army? My father and grandther are jarheads I'm the only one who didn't become a jarhead among my siblings that did join, maybe your grandson did the same.
