A huge winter storm is in the works for this weekend for the mid atlantic, I-95 cities. Within 36 hours from now, a major snowstorm will begin to impact major I-95 cities. This is NOT a drill. Condition red!

More details to come.

After your first code red weather report bunked out on us, I think I'll take this one with a grain of salt.

The first one I was wrong on. The second one I canceled. This one is 36 hours out. No chance of error unless our atmosphere is impacted by a giant meteor and then we won't have to worry about a snow storm.

Well you're vague on location.

Will the southern NJ shore be affected? Because I wouldn't mind a little snow right about now.

We get that weather hours before. I'm kicking back here. Our Christmas program is scheduled for 7 pm tomorrow. Friday is our school Christmas mass, 11:00 dismissal. Guess what?

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THURSDAY TO 12 PM CST
FRIDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING FOR SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM
THURSDAY TO 12 PM CST FRIDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER
IN EFFECT.

PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN AS SNOW LATE THURSDAY
AFTERNOON. BY THURSDAY EVENING...PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO
BECOME A MIX OF SLEET AND SNOW ACROSS FAR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS
INTO THE NORTHERN SUBURBS OF CHICAGO...AND A MIX OF SLEET...SNOW
AND FREEZING RAIN ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 88...EVENTUALLY
TRANSITIONING TO MAINLY SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS BY MID MORNING FRIDAY OF 6
TO 9 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE CLOSER TO THE ILLINOIS WISCONSIN
STATE LINE TAPERING TO 2 TO 4 INCHES CLOSER TO INTERSTATE 80...AND
LESSER SNOW ACCUMULATIONS SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.
THE LOCATIONS
WITH LESSER SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL EXPERIENCE GREATER ICE
ACCUMULATIONS. ICE ACCUMULATIONS THURSDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY FRIDAY
MORNING WILL RANGE FROM LESS THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH CLOSER TO THE
ILLINOIS WISCONSIN STATE LINE TO AROUND A HALF INCH OR GREATER
ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.

Saw the 'dress rehearsal' of school program, really bad. My guess is the principal, (who recognized 'really bad' when she saw it), will cancel the program and Friday. Woot! My break will begin 2:40 tomorrow!

Perfect excuse: While most of the kids live within a mile or so of the school, the teachers don't. Yesterday's drive home in the storm took over an hour and a half, tomorrow's is pretty close to same timeline-but if the program goes on, won't be leaving until after 8pm, which would mean on ice. Too dangerous!

Friday morning looks awful, so cancel that. ;)

the jersey shore? your in south jersey? the one and only place in my youth that i ever considered ''home''?

i was in linwood, ocean city, somers point and ventnor for a bit....late high school years and some college years at Stockton State....my favorite beach was in longport when i was driving age, before that was ocean city/boardwalk.

Where abouts, are you paul? haven't been there in almost a decade or lived there in almost 2 decades, but i still consider it....home, in a way!

care

well, thats why they changed the wording, now its "global climate change"

something that has happened for eons, but now is somehow our fault
