I agree that some should be armed but not the lower grades. Talk about a shooting frenzy and a few OK Corrals.

Pentagon Authorizes Concealed Guns on Military Bases

Having spent a career in the military, I won't be surprised to see them limit the authorization to only the senior enlisted and officers.

And I believe thats a good idea. I'd say anyone who is into his/hers second enlistment that have a stellar record. But at least you'll have someone around who can shoot back when some lunatic decides to start killing our soldiers.

I do not like the idea. Then again, thinking of where we are on the downhill slide into 3rd world nation status ......!? Some one recently said "we are Rome" meaning the USA. Sounds about right.

You speak of third world, can you imagine if EVERYONE carried weapons and it was thought to be part of your manhood? I can just see it now, the US going up in flames.
