Romney did, in fact, personally demolish all of his contenders in the GOP race when he had to. Santorum even took out an ad showing a Romney Stand-in firing a gun. For him to complain about negative campaigning is rather hilarious; especially given that he a) took money and appeared with a birther and b) is running as a Republican who basically took it to a new low (?) in 04.
