Common Sense and Our Dangerous National Debt

No they won't find work, just like the GREAT DEPRESSION there is no work to be FOUND.

Actually they will... because all that is necessary for them to find work is for the government to get out of the way.

What you're seeing is the push between the immovable object: as defined by the need for 'X' dollars... because that is what they were receiving before... they lost their job, which was a product of a false economy, based upon the perverted notion of 'Fairness'... which supplanted natural principle.

This is pushing against the irresistible force that is the employers means to pay for labor, within the scale of their current production.

Remove subsidies which provide for the illusion that the unemployed will find work which replaces their old salary or wages and PRESTO... the individual is looking at having to revise their expectations.

Now... that provides that they will take a job which provides them the means to express their talents, for MUCH LESS than they were getting. BUT... IF and WHEN they are set to work, expressing their talents, using their initiative, making things happen... that activity will BREED ACTIVITY. It does so because nature requires that it MUST. THAT activity then breeds NEW OPPORTUNITIES which did not EXIST UNTIL THE MEANS TO PRODUCE THEM CAME INTO PLAY!

Again... this is American 101.

So there was NO WAY you could have known that.

It's just ONE of those things that makes America so positively EXCEPTIONAL.

This is absurdity built on faith not reality.

THERE ARE NO JOBS.

Where will the JOBS come from?

Your concession is duly noted and summarily accepted.

I expect you to defend your ignorant belief that if you were to just "remove government" from some fantasy place of obstruction that magically jobs will be created.

Over 90 million no less!

Even during the Great Depression they won't work was a battle cry of Republicans that had jobs. Then when the war started they all went to work. Even Hoover talked of the new businesses that had been created; he was referring to the apple sellers on street corners. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Currently, there are thousands of crop picking jobs on farms that have food rotting in the fields, because migrant farm workers would do the work for $2.00 an hour which Americans won't do. So American farmers are forced to pay Americans $7.50 and hour, and U.S. workers can only pick crops half as fast as the migrant workers. So U.S. farmers have to charge five times more for their crops as South American farmers. So now most of the food you buy in the grocery stores are from South America.

Not only do cons want a third world work force for Americans, they want to put U.S. farms out of business because they can buy the food from farmers in South America where workers work for 50 cents an hour.

Republican brains are broken toys. They take them out to play with them, and forget where they put them.

Obama's has proposed a budget of $3.9 trillion, which is at least $100 billion ("billion" with a "b") more than we spent in FY 2014. Insane. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CFRB) has published an analysis of Obama's budget. Among other things, it notes the following in one of its summary statements:

"the budget does far too little to reduce current debt levels nor slow the growth of entitlement spending over the long-run. Under the President’s budget, debt remains roughly twice as high as in 2007 and higher than any time in history other than around World War II. Meanwhile, Social Security and Medicare remain on paths toward insolvency and both programs – along with interest spending – will continue to grow rapidly."

Folks, we need to change course or we're going to end up like Greece, Spain, Italy, etc., etc.

The full CFRB report can be found here:

The President s Budget Saves Only Half of What It Claims Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget

So, liberals, what will you say the next time Obama tries to raise the debt ceiling? How can we ever hope to get out of debt if we keep going deeper into debt every time we hit the debt ceiling? You can't start to pay off a debt until you stop increasing it.

Just look at Obama's proposed budget. Good grief, it calls for increasing the debt for the next 10 years. That is crazy, reckless, and irresponsible.

When your foolish son gets himself deep in credit card debt and he's using credit cards to pay part of his bills, you would tell him that he must bite the bullet, stop spending more than he gets, and then start to pay down his debt as soon as he can. That's what any sane father would tell his son. And you would warn him not to try to get credit-line increases on his credit cards.

We are now to the sorry point where we are paying over $200 billion per year just to pay the interest on the national debt--just the interest. Have we learned nothing from Greece, Spain, Italy?

At latest count, we are now $18 trillion in debt, which is more than our GDP, and the government continues to run a deficit of around half a trillion dollars each year.

Common sense and basic math tell us that we will never get out of debt unless we first stop going into debt.

Yet Obama and the Democrats continue to want to increase federal spending. They also want to raise taxes--on gas, on investments, on just about everything.

How do Democrats expect the economy to grow if the government keeps taking more and more money out of it? How do the Democrats expect to ever balance the budget, much less to start paying down the debt, when they constantly want to increase federal spending? Have they learned nothing from Greece, Spain, Italy? You can't tax and spend your way to a balanced budget and prosperity.

If you wanna be pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-
card check, pro-amnesty, fine. But why can't you follow basic math when it comes to the budget and the debt? No sensible, rational person would run their personal finances the way the Democrats want to run the federal budget.

When you're $18 trillion in debt and rising, that is not the time for more "investing" (read: more federal spending)--that's the time to cut spending down to revenue, to balance the budget, and start the long process of paying down the debt. When you're $18 trillion in debt, you don't try to get an increase in your line of credit--it's time to bite the bullet and stop charging on the national credit card.

I have found both parties love spending, just on different things. We need another ross Perot!

What was Romney going to do to balance the budget? He wanted to cut taxes even more, and increase defense spending,

Do you really think that was all Romney proposed to balance the budget--to cut taxes and increase defense spending? Please tell me that you don't vote. Did you just never get around to watching any of his speeches or reading his written budget plan?

the exact formula that Reagan used to put us into this debt spiral in the first place.

Sigh. . . . Really? Wow, again, please tell me that you don't vote. I'm being sarcastic, of course, but it's just amazing that someone would get on a public board and make sure erroneous statements. Reagan battled for a balanced budget amendment and complained every year about Congress spending too much, especially after the Dems started bundling all spending bills into one giant omnibus bill and then daring Reagan to veto it and shut down the government.
