There are 1,500 people known to the Chicago police department as people who will be the ones shooting other people or getting shot....that is problem 1.

Then you have the fact that Chicago has spent money on everything but police...they are down about 2,000 police officers and refuse to hire enough to make a difference.

Then, you have the ACLU forcing every beat cop to fill out 7 pages or so of double sided, legal size forms for every interaction with the public....taking them out of action as they fill out that paperwork.

Then, you have black lies matter, supported by the democrats, attacking the police, so now the police will not proactively police the city, they will only respond to 911 calls.

Then, you have street gangs running too many of the aldermen in the city, who then vote to keep police numbers and resources low and out of their neighborhoods.

Those are the issues in Chicago...

And one last thing.......the democrats in Chicago refuse to lock up repeat, violent gun offenders...the ones who end up murdering people with guns. We have repeat, violent gun offenders, captured over and over by police with illegal guns on them, as felons, and the prosecutors and judges are letting them out on bail, and if they do get a sentence, it is often less than 3 years.....that is the real problem.

What do you think would be effective?

I think our members have discussed these issues until we’re blue in the face, always with the same result. Everyone ends up taking sides and insulting one another. Then, no one agrees on anything.

I don’t know what would be effective. But we do know that throwing money and welfare packages (Section 8, AIDC, etc.) at the black community hasn’t helped anything. In fact, after billions (probably trillions) of dollars spent, the problems only seem to be getting worse.

My view is that there are some serious cultural issues that have to be resolved. But, only the black community can make the needed changes.

Maybe it should be called a violent black sub-culture that has developed. The thugs causing most of the problems apparently lack all of the values that the vast majority of Americans (including many blacks) share and find necessary in order to live and prosper together. But blacks want absolutely NO advice from white people, and they don't want to hear any comments about their behavior or culture. They DO want money and lots of other benefits from whites, but only with no strings attached. It’s the same old, same old.

So, these are problems that only the black community can solve. But before they can do that, they have to accept the fact that many, if not most, of their problems are of their own making. Whitey is NOT responsible for every decision they make, every crime they commit, or every unhappy circumstance in their lives. In short, they have to accept the fact that life (and whitey) doesn’t owe them, or anyone else a living. We all have to earn our own way.

But on this board, blacks get angry whenever they hear these statements. And they howl that it’s just more racist bullshit — that we’re just blaming blacks, again, for their problems. That’s what I meant when I said that blacks want NO advice from whites.

Yet, EVERY other group within our larger society understands the truth of those statements. And every other racial or ethnic group has developed values that pretty much mirror those that have been held by most Americans for as long as we can remember: self-reliance, value education, value work and thrift, respect yourself and others. It’s not rocket science.

But I truly doubt any whites will ever be able to influence the black thugs. Even black celebrities get trashed when they address and embrace these same ideas. If they suggest that the black community should seriously adopt these ideas they are called Uncle Toms, and worse.

Imo, the thugs causing all the problems are a lost ‘generation’. Maybe the larger black community will be able to find ways to help save the next generation. But they’re the only ones who can do it.

Guaranteeing them jobs, an education, and a ‘future’ sounds nice. But it would amount to throwing ever more billions of dollars down the toilet, and we would see exactly the same results. Why do I say that? Because many of these things have already been tried, many times over — and they have not worked. And, they are almost certain to fail because the troublemakers and criminals DO NOT value any of these things. And nothing we (the white community) do will ever change that. They do NOT want to learn from us.

That’s my opinion and I’ll probably be trashed for it. Tough shit. That’s the way I see it.
