The procedure itself is no problem. You'll be unconscious. The problem with colonoscopy is the prep, which I despise!

I've had colon cancer surgery and I am prone to polyps, so I have a colonoscopy every year. Different GI specialists prefer different preps. My former GI had me drink two full bottles of Citrate of Magnesia, which was like drinking gasoline. My current GI has me mix a full bottle of Miralax into two quarts of GatorAde and drink it all over the day before the procedure, which I believe to be what slowly drowning is like.

Whichever prep your GI assigns, once you get started I recommend you not remove yourself more than 30 (running) paces from a toilet.

eat light on Weds and go liquid Thurs and the shitting part the day before aint that bad......the procedure aint no big deal and its worth getting it done.....the guys with the attitude of "no one is going to shove anything up my ass"......are the guys who may find out how stupid they were....after they get the Cancer.....

Ya, the procedure is nothing. It's the drinking that CRAP the night before!! Actually, I only got about 1/2 way through it and just could NOT drink any more! It seemed to work ok....

Yes, the actual procedure is a breeze…

The prep, however, is assigned its own circle in Hell.

its only one day LL.....its tough.....but Friday after your done..... grab a nice Ribeye.....

I'll get a colonoscopy when I have symptoms that something is wrong. No colon cancer in my family, thank goodness.

They knock me out pretty good and I always came
out of the anesthesia clear headed like it never happened...

But the night before drinking all that prep stuff sucks...but this is good thing to have done.

I made the mistake of eating a big meal the day before I had to fast. That was a mistake, I think. Instead, I'd try eating lighter throughout the week. I'd never fasted before, and it was awful. I told the nurse before my procedure that I wasn't in any state of mind to sign a contract. The cleaning yourself is awful but you get through it.

The actual procedure is a breeze. They put you under with morphine, which was awesome! I actually had the scope shoved up my backside when I was a teenager and before they started putting people under. It was horrible. If there was a 0.000001% chance I was gay before that, it went to 0.000000% after that!

Just to add...If I was given a choice of a
colonoscopy every month or become a Liberal...
I would go for 2 every month just to be safe...

I agree. Make sure you drink lots as well, because you'll lose a lot of fluid on the loo.

The night before is 1000 times worse than the procedure itself which is really a breeze.
