As a young man, I was so turned off by the American system, I too looked to other forms of government. On paper, socialism and communism sounded real good. Once I left school and got 'out in the world', I learned that socialism and communisim was good ONLY on paper. In reality, implementation of such a system was filled with facist and dictatorial pitfalls. So, if you were to look into my background, you'd find a committed socialist at a very young age, and an independent 'managed capitalist' beginning about age 25. From my own personal experience, I don't hold it against anyone who veered into socialism at a young age......as long as they have found their way out.
