Colin Powell Jumping Ship?

Powell is a scrumbag,, kicked his best liberal friend McCain to the Curb,, so he could vote along racial lines.. no respect left for him.
Powell took the cowards way out. He could've shown courage but failed that test.
I hate it when the R side jumps on some celeb type candidate for president: Arnold (change the constitution? conservative?), Powell, Condaleeza Rice, it shows no political sophistication at all, and almost desperation.

So how do you feel about Sarah Palin?

You do realize that were it not for the 65% of the budget spent on social programs the government wouldn't be in the hole.

You do realize that most normal Americans care far more about what happens in our own country rather than butting into every other country's problems, I hope.

Powell has reservations about "budgets that are running into the multi-trillions of dollars"?

That's rich, coming from someone whose entire career was funded with public debt.

\

You mean the government spent dollars on defense, the real purpose of government?

George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and a few others who signed our Constitution just did another turn in their graves.

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT. Colin has finally figured out that he voted for the wrong guy and he is a black man to boot.

Too much government spending, gonna bankrupt the country.

UNLIKE OBAMA, POWELL LOVES HIS COUNTRY, OBAMA DOES NOT.
Powell sold out any conservative ideals, and he did it for race and Washington popularity. That has been the mainstay of his entire political career. If he wants to admit his mistake, all the better, but other than that he should stay out of Republican politics; he has no ideas, much less new ideas, and is a distraction, and worse still will do it again creating more chaos given the opportunity.

Colin Powell doesn't have a dishonest or disingenuous bone in his body. His concern about the increased debt is valid, and he's most assuredly not the only Obama supporter to come out and openly assert his concern. Hello?

I'm quite sure that if General Powell were to flip back again and support a Republican candidate, you people would be slobbering all over him as the GOP's voice of wisdom. You're so transparent, it's sickening.

Haha, that's quite the laugh.
Colin Powell was the one that said the GOP needed to field a candidate that was "moderate". The GOP offered McCain. A man that was actually left of moderate and Powell voted for Mr Obama.
Mr Powell is a liberal and everybody with any sense knows it.

yep! he needs to follow that other dipshit.

So its not because he liked him, its only cause he's black? And you wonder why Republicans are known WIDELY as the racist party, black people aren't bright enough to make a real educated opinion(like you show that you have all the time:lol:), they just voted for Barack cause he's mixed

Powell blew his reputation by lying for Bush so that Bush could go to war in Iraq.
Powell, Tenet, Bush, Blair all believed at the time what was said at the UN. If Powell couldn't stand the heat he should've stayed out of the kitchen; screw him.

In regard to Iraq, Powell did not lie for anyone. When he stood in front of the UN he believed what he presented.

In regard to Powell's politics, if there was any respect for him on substance he blew it by supporting Obama. Not because he supported him, but, for the reason he did. The man should have owned up then that he was doing it because of race and for personal gain.

Powell had one huge shining moment, when he was given the job of building a war plan to retake Kuwait he let his generals and military do their job as they should. He delegated well and trusted those under him.

Other than that, his career though notable, has been fairly par for the course.

No, its the fact we spend over 56% of the entire world's total spending on defense and not on our country

Colin Powell Jumping Ship?

George Joyce
Add Colin Powell to the ranks of Americans waking up from the Obama induced stupor. The Washington Times is reporting that Mr. Powell has voiced serious reservations in a CNN interview about Obama's big government agenda and its consequences for our nation and our children.

In the CNN interview to be aired Sunday on "State of the Union with John King" Powell cautioned Mr. Obama about "budgets that are running into the multi-trillions of dollars" and "a huge, huge national debt that, if we don't pay for in our lifetime, our kids and grandkids and great-grandchildren will have to pay for it."

Haven't conservatives been issuing these same warnings ever since Obama began his presidential campaign? It seems rather disingenuous for Mr. Powell, an early Obama supporter, to suddenly have this epiphany after a mountain of economic evidence has portended the frightening consequences of President Obama's budget.

Maybe it's Powell's way of distancing himself from the Democrats after Obama's truly outrageous handling of recent events in Honduras and in Iran.

Remember about a month ago when Newsweek's Evan Thomas gushed:

"I mean in a way Obama's standing above the country, above - above the world, he's sort of God."

I guess even Colin Powell assumes that God would be able to balance a budget.

Colin Powell Jumping Ship?

Colin Powell doesn't know if he's Right or Left. ....kinda like Michael Jackson...with black or white.
He supported Obama from the begining. He became a traitor to the Republicans.

Obama told the world what he was going to do..... and Powell knew this. But he wanted to get on the 'first black president' bandwagon...He wanted to be a part of this.

Now the American people are starting to wake up to Obama's massive spending....
He too want's to get on this bandwagon.

Colin Powell endorses Obama

CNN) -- Former Secretary of State Colin Powell announced Sunday that he will be voting for Sen. Barack Obama, citing the Democrat's "ability to inspire" and the "inclusive nature of his campaign."

"I think he is a transformational figure, he is a new generation coming onto the world stage, onto the American stage, and for that reason I'll be voting for Sen. Barack Obama," Powell said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Powell said he was concerned about what he characterized as a recent negative turn of Republican candidate Sen. John McCain's campaign, such as the campaign's attempts to tie Obama to former 1960s radical Bill Ayers.

"I think that's inappropriate. I understand what politics is about -- I know how you can go after one another, and that's good. But I think this goes too far, and I think it has made the McCain campaign look a little narrow. It's not what the American people are looking for," he said.

GREAT JOB!

What we were looking for was LEADERSHIP!

Repeat a lie often enough and the stupid people will believe it.

Yup, the government should stop paying retirees SS and Medicare benefits. That definitely would be the answer to our problems.

I believe you two are talking in cross purposes on this. But in either case, as of now the Treasury is in a huge surplus from SS revenues, as they've spent that right along. The shortfall is in the future when the bonds which represent the loans from SS funds come due, and fewer working people have to support those drawing benefits, as all the while revenues fail to match benefits as money is simply transferred from workers to retired folks.

I liked Powell. What he's done to Bush in the aftermath of 9/11, what he did to GOP-not McCain, but GOP in the last election. One needs to ask, is he for country or Colin Powell's legacy. He COULD have run, he chose not to. For second time. There's some reason he refused to run, which would make sense if his kids were young, but they no longer were. He was wanted and would have been the best against Obama. Sure, left of McCain, but someone most could have gotten behind.

Instead during a time of war, he chose the appeaser.

I meant the bloated imperialistic military our masters need to make themselves rich by threatening much of the world with it, actually.

A truly effective defensive military would cost us about 1/10 what we spend now, lad.

I hope there are many who jump ship. I thank God I never got on that ship.

The ship will likely become overweight on one side, and hopefully sink soon.

When that happens, I pray that there are enough ship jumpers along with those who never went on board, to TAKE OVER THE GOVERNMENT, and recover the nation.

Actually Colin Powell's position illustrates once again the Obama was elected for reasons other than his positions. It's become obvious that Powell and others voted for him for reasons other than what he said.

Why would I say that? Well everything he proclaimed to think necessary, he's proposed. Most are now approved or are up for votes. Collin Powell is either an idiot, which I don't believe, or he voted for reasons beyond what Obama promised. He shouldn't be bitching now.

Annie, you are really being too nice in your post. Call it for what it is, Colin Powell voted for Obama because he was black.
