As the US Message Board becomes more and more dominated by the RW fringe, it's nice to see a grass roots political movement counter the hysterical and divisive rhetoric of the RW.
It's also nice to see dozens and more groups of moderate Americans with an expansive vision for America, not one clouded by the wedge issues of guns, gays and abortion.
Not one person showed up at the many coffee party meetings yesterday with a firearm on their hip. A refreshing and civilized change where issues are discussed and opinions expressed so unlike the shout-down so common at Tea Parties.
Rational Americans, willing to agree to disagree with civility gives one hope for our future; the coarse, angry and hysterical tea baggers ought to take a look, and for a change listen.

30 people is not a valid statistical sample - unless the total group is quite tiny.

Good luck with your cheap-o lunatic fringe knock off imitation.

Last year, the fledgling tea party movement scheduled nearly 2,000 gatherings on April 15, Tax Day. Over the summer, tea partiers packed health-care town halls by the hundreds, overflowing venues and leading to lines running around the block. On Sept. 12, the crowd of tea partiers that flooded Washington, D.C., was estimated into the hundreds of thousands, possibly topping 1 million.
See for yourself the signs created by tea partiers, gathered together in one, big, colorful book produced to commemorate the most earth-shattering, grass-roots political awakening the U.S. has ever seen!
By contrast, Alex Pappas of the Daily Caller reports showing up to a Washington, D.C., coffee party at Peregrine Espresso in the Eastern Market area today, "only to find a small gathering of five activists huddled at a small table."

It's a cheap Knock off by a bunch of leftist loons with NO originality who were trying to be cute. They can take their party to Juan Valdez and his fields. It will have as much effect.

The problem, of course, is that nobody is handing out Free Coffee to lure the target participants.

ZOMG!! I must have accidentally walked into a Coffee Party!!

I went into this Dunkin Donuts and saw all these people and they looked normal too, except the guy behind the counter who had a thick Indian accent.

Here's the real test: did they try to get you to pick up the tab?

"30 people" is a lie.
I might respond with evidence, but, the only people to respond to this thread are RW Fringers, those of the set of the willfully ignorant.

And what is their impact? Try ZERO. And a bit of advice? Try to be more original next time?

People supporting a group full of fringe members calling another group fringe.

Oops, there goes the irony meter again. USMB sure is expensive. :eusa_whistle:

One of those tea parties that Thomas brags about:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlQIDNW5nRc]YouTube - TEA PARTY - MARCH FOOTAGE WITH INTERVIEWS[/ame]

That amount of ignorance is a scary thing.
