Obama still hasn't found his stance yet and Bush's rating was so high because of 911. The country was drooling red, white, and blue. He has made mistakes and he needs to shore up the troops, but it is very early in his term to be tossing in the towel. I see him moving further to the center as his time in the WH continues...as Bill Clinton did.

The latest poll I can find is from 07. and according to it there are 8.4% who call themselves liberal on active duty. That is not quite a few.

Yet he failed to pass healthcare and blamed the republicans for that. Now, he's got mid term elections coming up and there is a strong possibility that he is going to lose a hefty chunk of seats. You got one thing right - he is not what most of the people who voted for him wanted. He won on an 'anyone but a Republican' vote. That was not a mandate to move the country towards socialism. wow!....another poll that 1000 people on a media call list answered! - these polls really do represent all of America!!!

I don't know what the questions were, and that is a ctical piece of the puzzle, but that is a pretty healthy sample size and the screening normally provides a pretty random sample given modern techniques.

These results are probably an accurate picture of the population within about 3-4%.

The problem with healthcare reform waws and is that when the Presidential campaign was being run, most people thought this meant that they could get free healthcare, not simply access to insurance.

As it became clear to a larger and larger segment of the society that we were about to spend a Trillion dollars in order to be forced to spend money that many don't have to buy insurance or go to jail for not buying it, the bloom fell of the rose.

A key to running a successful swindle is to be gone before the mark knows he's been taken. Thankfully, there was enough hesitation to expose the grift before the thief got out the door.
