I live in N Florida. There are not any signs for the gubernatorial race or the senate race. It is like it is not even happening. Granted n Florida is heavily republican but it is sparsely populated. All the action has to be going on in s. Fla. I hate to say it but DeSantis in not a good campaigner but he was down 20 points to his primary opponent and still won. Scott has run brilliant ads and I think that race will be close, but I don’t think anybody understands the intensity of the left, the Bernie supporters and the socialists. Add the huge outside money coming in and it is serious. A friend of mine in Tampa says they are rounding up the homeless to register to vote and then just having them sign an already filled out ballot. The Dems ground game will be and is a juggernaut.

I live near Tallahassee. I have talked to Dems who have met Gillum and to a person they say he is a crook. I don’t know if he is under investigation, but his associates are. Yes if he were to become governor the state would take a nosedive. $15 an hour min wage would kill all small businesses including mine. 40% increase in business taxes will be a killer. Corruption will be the name of the game in Tally. He would be an unmitigated disaster but then we already have an example of a silver tongued devil who had no idea what he was doing getting elected. Lots of new Puerto Rican voters, lots of naive young voters brought out by the gun debate, and a lot of republican staleness. I have no idea what will happen and I will not be surprised by anything that happens. It won’t be as long as it has been.

I would say, as with many republicans, that he is a good person but lacks charisma. He is not a con artist like Obama or Gillum. Desantis is a gentleman too, a liability when confronting democrats.

I don't know if that's to me or what, since there was no quote. If it is I'd point out that that is DeSantis' phrase so if there was racism injected, that's where it came from.
