Cnn On The Republican Debate

It is pretty humorous watching so-called "Moderates" or "Independents" pretending they're not Socialist/Progressive Democrats. I mean what's the point? Just be who you are. Take a stand and take the heat. I have much more respect for people who fight for what they believe in. There is no need to pretend. Just be who you are.

Oh joy... a new libtard mouth breather for the board. Goody!

Actually I’m neither liberal nor conservative, I’m a registered independent and my opinions reflect that. I’m not offended though, I have noticed some people are quick to label one as the opposition the moment ones opinions disagree with their own.
I have been known to criticize or support policies from either side, and I’m often labeled as a conservative when I disagree with liberal policies and a liberal when I disagree with conservatives. I suppose its just par for the course anytime one engages in political discussions.

an "independent" doesn't spout libtard talking points, you're not the first cowardly libtard in here who's claimed not to be a libtard.. but we know you izz a libtad.

By relying on childish insults you prove that my arguments are such that you cant hope to prove me wrong with logic and reason, so you resort to trying to dissuade me from continuing or getting me too angry to respond rationally. I thank you for demonstrating that I’m too right for you to hope to argue.

So If I disagree with conservatives on any issue, of course I cant be independent, I suppose you would argue this is because conservatives are always right? How obvious you are.

I’m sorry, I didn’t realize your vocabulary was thusly limited and your comprehension was so low. I will endeavor to dumb my statements down to your level in the future.
You have still not made a single rational statement that defeats any argument I have made, clearly this is because I am right and you are incapable of doing so.

When The One named Billionaire GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt his "Jobs Czar",it told me everything I needed to know. An American "Jobs Czar" who Outsources Hundreds of American Jobs every year? What a disgrace. Also keep in mind,The One will have the first $Billion Presidential Campaign. Just something else to ponder in 2012 i guess.

What made it obvious to me was his much earlier appointment of a "tax cheat" who couldn't follow simple directions on filing his payrolll tax as the f'in

Secretary of the Treasury -- United States of America

No one is too incompetent or corrupt to serve..

CNN has been known as the 'Communist News Network' and "Clinton News Network' for many years. So i take their opinions with a grain of salt. I know where they're coming from.
Just as long as you're not taking what Fox, Rush, or MSNBC says WITHOUT a grain of salt.

CNN is the USA Today of cable news.. Designed for those on Prozac who can't afford to get stirred up.. Lots of puppy stories and happy talk. Nothing I'd need to consume there.

The exception is the ONE SHOW where they put up a real journalist in Prime Time and let him do hard news (Anderson Cooper).

Having fun yet? Welcome to the board BTW.. So where DID you get this abominable views of the dark Koch brothers and corporate puppetering? That's the primary problem with Independents. They've been slumming all over the place and spread disease.

Why would it be that the Koch brothers would want to fund an organization dedicated to cutting the govt off at the nuts? Wouldn't that end their ability to continue paying ADM for producing all that ethanol? And why the hell would Goodyear tire care about continuing "green credits" to GE?

See the problem with all that govt/corporate collusion is that you have CAUSE AND EFFECT exactly backwards. You think corporations are flocking to Washington to BUY influence and power from innocent people-serving legislators. In reality they HAVE TO BE THERE to protect their own asses from armies of bureaucrats and their competitors.

No offense -- just paraphrasing -- "It's the POWER stupid" -- not the money. We've let the Fed Govt dabble in every aspect of the marketplace.. Check out the loss of innocence on the part of Bill Gates. For YEARS the stupid ass geek thought that his gigantic tech operation could IGNORE the powers in Wash. "live and let live".. When they pummeled his ass for not being more patronizing to politicians -- he got the message -- Mafia style..

NOW -- Microsoft has it's own army of lobbyist in Washington and has been brought to heel. Lots of cash now flowing.. It only took a whooping to get it started..

I’m not trying to blame all the corruption on billionaire lobbying. However It is a fact that the super rich have been spending hundreds of millions on campaign donations with the vast majority going to conservatives, and conservative fiscal policy clearly shows this.

How does conservative fiscal policy show that?

CNN (Communist News Network) is entitled to their opinion. Just keep in mind that their opinion is very biased. They've been in the tank for the Democrats since their founding. So this opinion shouldn't be surprising to anyone.
Of course they are....Ted Turner?...Jane Fonda....James Carville...etc....

The only difference between CNN or MSNBC...and Fox, is that Fox is the only one who claims to be fair and balanced. And the people who watch Fox seem to actually buy that foolish notion. I don't know any lefties, and I'm not a lefty, that think MSNBC and CNN are fair and balanced. Then all kinds of Fox dolts run around on the face of the planet with heads full of BS...thinking the whole time they've got fair, balanced, and unbiased information. And it gives rational conservatives a bad name.

You are obviously a lefty, and I've seen uncounted lefties claim FOX is a propaganda organ while CNN, and the major networks are "objective" news sources. Thread after thread in this forum has been dedicated to smearing FOX as a propaganda organ.

I'm curious, Deepthunk...you maintain that nobody has been able to "prove you wrong with logic and reason" but you studiously ignored my posts that attempted to do so. The following was what I posted to you. You didn't respond, choosing instead to get in a flame war with someone you obviously consider intellectually inferior. Would you like to respond now?

((So you're talking about Republican economic policy from the last Administration? I thought we were discussing Republican economic policy "now". With all due respect, many of the Republicans who spent us into trouble during the Bush years are long gone...they were kicked out of office in 2008. The Republicans that swept into office in 2010 are a different group. They are asking for spending cuts and entitlement reform because that's what their constituents sent them to Washington to get done. What part of "their" economic policy do you disagree with?

As for waiting until the economy is "strong again" before asking for budget cuts? Do you not understand that part of the reason the economy isn't strong is that the public sector is sucking capital out of the private sector at an unsustainable rate?))

And the other post you over looked was a response to this post of yours...

"The health care law commonly referred too as Obama care is an area I can certainly criticize. This Health care law is a excellent example of democrats being simply wrong and deserving of criticism.
When President Obama was running for office what he promised us was Universal health care. I (like most everyone else) took this to mean a British type health care system where the sick simply walk into a doctor’s office or hospital and receive treatment.
What we got once he was elected was mandatory health insurance, a bill designed to hand millions of new customers to the health insurance corporations. This Health care law does NOTHING to reform the brutal health care system, but instead forces working class people (under threat of monetary penalty, and possibly worse) to buy health insurance they cannot afford. Furthermore the people deciding if said working class people can afford said insurance will be the heartless, overpaid, and under worked bureaucrats that work for the IRS, not the working people who have to balance their own budget and pay the bills.
Several times now I have heard the left try to justify this law by comparing it to mandatory auto insurance (in fact they have used some vary tricky word-plays to try and justify that position), however this is not a valid analogy. The simple fact is you have a choice in whether or not you own or operate a motor vehicle, that choice is usually made based on whether or not one can afford the cost and the mandatory insurance is the most significant part of that cost. Since liberals haven’t seemed to notice, there are allot of people who ride the bus because they can’t afford a car.
Unlike a car, people don’t have a choice in whether or not they live. To try and force people to pay for insanely expense health insurance that they clearly can’t afford is even more cruel and heartless than taking away the basic minimum state health care that has been keeping some people alive.
There is no mistaking that washington liberals have betrayed working class americans this time, in fact they have out right cut our throughts for the sake of money from the health insurance lobby and that’s a fundamental betrayal of every working class person who voted for them." Deepthunk

((So let me see if I've got this straight...in order to prove that you are a moderate...you criticize liberals for betraying working class people because they didn't pass a British Style health care system? You do realize that what you're asking for is a far more liberal stance than what Obama and the Democrats delivered?))
Edit/Delete Message))

You see you keep "saying" that you aren't a liberal and then in the very next breath you say something that is about as far left as you could possibly get. I'm not sure you KNOW what you are.
Oh, and just between you and I? Constantly repeating that "I am right" really doesn't win you debate points.

In other words, Obamacare isn't liberal enough for you.

You aren't fooling anyone into believing that you're an "independent."

You' re a die-hard lib.

Unfortunately, that statement is wholly inaccurate. MOST Americans wanted single payer. Hell, the overwhelming majority was calling for that. I personally feel that is an asinine idea but I can still acknowledged that my thoughts on the matter are not the views of most Americans. What the means is that there are defiantly many moderates that may well be conservative leaning or straight down the middle that can somehow rationalize healthcare os not following the classical capitalist rules and, therefore, think that it must be socialized. That does not make them die hard liberals, it means that they don't agree with you.

Hell, I even understand the argument. Healthcare is not a nicety and cannot simply be passed up if the price were too high. If your life depends on it, you would spend every damn penny you have. Healthcare is not the same as a sandwich. I think national healthcare is a bad idea only because I see firsthand how shitty the government is at running anything, healthcare in particular.

Fox gives you something that the other usually do not though, differing opinions. Many of the Fox shows have both conservative AND liberal commenters. That is where you get the moniker 'Fair and Balanced." Sure, the station is right wing and if you are taking Rush or Hannity as news you're a hopeless moron but there is some good info there. The other stations just feed you there stylized crap without any opposing views. Hell, I don't even watch any news anymore. I look up most things online, listen to POTUS and also listen to Hannity as well as Goldman and the rest of their ilk. It is really interesting to listen to Hannity's spin and then switch right over to the liberal talking heads spin. You can actually find some truth there in the middle. Well, except for Rush. Not only is he uninteresting but he is an idiot.

Oh, and just between you and I? Constantly repeating that "I am right" really doesn't win you debate points.

Thank you for reminding me of everything I just said, god knows as a pot smoking liberal I have a habit of forgetting things easily.
In my definition an independent may agree or disagree with any policy from either party (the disagreeing being the important part because partisan hacks never disagree with the policy of their own party). I should think the fact that I’m willing to level scathing criticism on the legislation proposed and passed by democrats would serve as adequate evidence that I do not always back their position. Aberrantly you missed it, but my argument against it was that it forces people to buy health insurance, which is the vary grounds upon which the Republican Party is challenging it in court. So I fail to see why conservatives should feel my argument is all that liberal, even if the replacement for the legislation I would seek is.
You might one day find me arguing against gun control in favor of second amendment rights, and a liberal could, in that hypothetical discussion, accuse me of being a republican using the same reasoning you use here. If I don’t agree with you totally and completely, you seem to feel I “must be one of them”.
Independent and moderate means I agree with some policies on one side and some on the other, it also means I disagree with some policies on both sides. For the most part I only respond to the policies proposed or supported by the major political parties, it’s not as though I sit around all day trying to make up new policy that’s somehow sits right in the middle of the political spectrum. What are you expecting?

Not sure if this OP is an "Independent" but i do know CNN isn't. CNN (Communist News Network/Clinton News Network),has always been biased in favor of the Democratic Party. This OP's own post proves this. So like i said earlier,i take CNN's opinions with a grain of salt. I know where they're coming from.

I follow both cnn and fox news, because cnn is, as you said, biased, and fox news is likewise, highly biased. Therefore to get both sides of any given issue, I have to listen to both sides and the means watching two different channels.
I also read both the New York Times, and the Washington Post for pretty much the same reason.
