"(Phys.org)—A trio of researchers with the University of California has found that marmosets learn to wait for others to stop making noise before they vocalize, at a very young age. In their paper published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Cecilia Chow, Jude Mitchell and Cory Miller describe a study they undertook with young marmoset twins and their parents and what they learned by doing so."
Marmosets found to learn to take turns when vocalizing

Not much of a discussion if 2 or more people are talking over each other on-air. Even lesser primates learn not to. :)

Reminds me of a translator who was translating Apache for the army during negotiations during the Geronimo days.

He noticed that one Apache would speak without interruption and then another would speak.

To the Americans this way of speaking and not talking over each other was remarkably unusual. It still is. (for us)

I'd much sooner sit in front of a TV show with marmosets than what passes for "news" channels. Would be a lot more educational too.
