Lincoln gave the Gettysburg address at the dedication of the battlefield cemetery at Gettysburg, not a political rally.

Real news media coverage of political rallies is that of a news event, not as means of spreading campaign rhetoric. That's why news broadcasts don't devote air time for full coverage of a campaign rally. If the Trump people want a couple of hours on national TV to spread their political message, they can buy time like any advertiser.
