Yep, why would holding 'the worst of the worst' in IL be less a recruiting tool than in a better Cuban environment? LOL! We are currently under a winter storm alert and tonight the chill will be lower than -10. Great climate.

It was simply a cause celebre of many who opposed Chimpola, they created a myth around it that it was a massive Gulag and when it was finally gone the world would look fondly on a kindly USA for getting rid of it.
The truth was it was a well run holding facility for extremly dangerous people and there is no good replacement for it.
That is why Barry stands there with his thumb up his ass trying to figure out what to do with the inmates of it.

yes Bush screwed up and released the wrong people to the wrong place. So this excuses Obama for repeating the mistake? I would think we would learn from past mistakes.

Actually, Bush did release some of the prisoners only to have them rejoin the terrorist organizations and start fighting us again. Those people need to be kept at Gitmo and Obama and Holder need to quit looking on them as criminals rather than terrorists. They need to face military tribunals instead of US courts.

Here is a thought, simply by moving the prisoners from Gitmo to IL. has anyone considered that perhaps the focus will then be IL.? The fact is, I submit that the organizations that have used Gitmo as a propaganda tool will continue to use IL. as a tool, so the only thing that has been accomplished here really will be the several million dollar purchase of a prison in IL. when the one in Gitmo is well sutied for the purpose. Perhaps, one can also say that to transfer the prisoners to IL. would expose that town and it's residents needlessly to outside dangers that they otherwise would not be exposed to. Seems an awful big risk and and an awful lot of money for a jobs program.

Just because Bush made stupid mistakes isn't an excuse for Obama to do the same.
