Chicago, Chicago, that Toddling Town
Geez, not a big fan of Obama, personally, will probably be voting Third Party because I hate Romney just as much. But I find it hysterical that some on the right are going absolutely batshit nuts that Clint Eastwood is supposedly shilling for Obama.

Clint Eastwood? YOu know, Dirty Harry? Really?

Clint Eastwood Political Quotes : Celebolitics – Celebrity Politics

In January 2005 at National Board of Review awards dinner in New York City, Eastwood stated that “he would kill” the liberal filmmaker Michael Moore if ever Moore showed up at his home with a camera.

“At Waco, was there really an urgency to get those people out of the compound at that particular time? Was the press going to make it look heroic for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms? At Ruby Ridge, there was one guy in a cabin at the top of the mountain. Was it necessary for federal agents to go up there and shoot a 14-year-old in the back and shoot a woman with a child in her arms? What kind of mentality does that?”

When he was asked: “How would you characterize yourself politically?” Eastwood answered, “Libertarian – Everyone leaves everyone else alone.” – LibertarianRock.com

But wait, there's more...

Right Truth: Clint Eastwood speaks on political correctness...

Eastwood , 79, apparently believes that political correctness has rendered modern society humorless, and accuses younger generations of spending too much time trying to avoid being offensive, saying "I don't want to be politically correct." I'm not sure what the context was when Eastwood made his comments, but I'm guessing they had something to do with his latest film "Gran Torino."

No nationality or religion was spared Eastwood's movie Gran Tornio, and that may be part of the reason he was snubbed completely at the Oscars this year. Gran Torino may have been Clint Eastwood's last acting performance, and it was magnificent. It has long been tradition in Hollywood to honor the body of work for a legend like Eastwood -- but Eastwood isn't just any Hollywood actor. Nope, he has been known to vote Republican and to live by Conservative principles. Oh, the horror! And no, he's never been politically correct.

I think that this shows how badly the Republican Party under Romney has lost its way. They see the saving of an American Icon (Chrysler) as a horrible thing, and saving of Union Jobs before paying off investors to be the worst thing ever.

I say we dump Romney and run Clint.

"I know what you're thinking, Achmed. Did he fire six nukes, or only five!"

Eastwood plays their game to enrich himself.

However, I think he was unaware that he was being used in this ad. He didn't check into what was behind it.

Do I think he was plugging for Obama?

No.

There are actors who are just airheaded enough to be able to make the claim, "I had no idea what that was about."

Clint isn't one of them. Clint has been in command of his career and his roles for a long time now. And it isn't lke the guy is hard up for money.

I personally liked the commercial. America's industries are coming back.

If this looks bad for the GOP, it's becuase they are running an asshole who made himself rich destroying good paying jobs while Obama made an effort to save them.

Shame on them.

He seems like Politics doesn't way too much into how he lives his life. I'm proud to say the same. Gran Torino was an anti-racist, anti division film. Eastwood wrote it.It's also about how ignorang and useless inner-City violent crime is.

Gran Torino was a great film on so many levels.

It exposed the truth that the PC lefty liberals hate and won't face.

It was a great film. Clint is one of the few actors who has consistently played in great films. As far as the Commercial. It will be forgotton come November.

the republican party has no ideas left that have not been proven failures

Clint Eastwood is one of America's greatest artists. Not only does he act, he directs and plays music. He's been center right for most of the time that I've known of him..and it's never ever bothered me. I also think he's a great humanitarian who's focused a great deal of effort on various charitable works.

"The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" is one of the greatest films ever made..and a big part of that was the contribution of Mr. Eastwood. America should value this true icon.

He did not get rich destroying good paying jobs.
He got rich by taking failing business models and turning them around...and those that were not "fixable", he sold off the assets to minimize the losses.
If he did not step in, those good paying jobs would have been lost anyway....and in most cases, a lot sooner than after they stepped in.
Do some reading...find out the truth about venture capitalists.

I like how he underfunded pensions, then bankrupted companies and left taxpayers on the hook for those pensions to tune of millions, which he then stuffed into his pocket.

Funny, how CONZ want to elect a guy who ran his businesses the way they say the country SHOULDN'T be run and actually COMPLAINING ABOUT! Take Fannie mae and Freddie Mac for instance. CONZ say that poor people taking out loans they can't pay back is bad. But what did Romney do? Running up massive debt, taking the profits and spinning off subsidiaries, then walking away with no intention of ever paying it back.

The poor didn't get a couple thou kickback on their bad loans like Romney did, though did they?

STFU. Obama isn't doing anything to save jobs.

Obama destroyed the Gulf Oil industry, put thousands of auto dealerships out of business, prevented an aircraft manufacturer from moving canceling out over a thousand jobs in SC, stopped the Keystone project costing a minimum of 20,000 jobs, he shut down Gibson guitar in Memphis, his EPA is about to put the coal industry out of business, and once Obamacare kicks in the insurance industry will go under as well. This guy has been a disaster. Bush simply didn't do enough to stop the damage socialist economics is doing to the world's economy because he decided winning a war was more important than fighting a bunch of back-biting Democrats.

rhetoric and hyperbole.

Educate yourself and then get back to me. I will not respond to left wing talking points that have nothing but opinion to back them up.

So running up debt is bad or good?

Giving loans to folks that can't pay it back is bad or good?

I'm not sure what you're saying here.

Obama and the Dems pushed both down our throats, but it's only bad when a conservative does it?

I kind of half-assed listened to what Clint was saying because I was distracted by his skin tone. He looked like he had been in a grease fire or something.

DUDE!!!!

Use a moisturizer.

"Eastwood’s sideways endorsement of the auto bailouts punches conservatives where it hurts — right in the Reagan."
