Climategate U-turn as scientist at centre of row admits: There has been no global warming since 1995

* Data for vital 'hockey stick graph' has gone missing
* There has been no global warming since 1995
* Warming periods have happened before - but NOT due to man-made changes

Data: [picture caption] Professor Phil Jones admitted his record keeping is 'not as good as it should be' [Do'oh!]

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information. [DO'OH!]

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers. [Do'oh!]

Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’. [Duh!]

The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon. [No shit, Sherlock!]

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.

Climategate U-turn: Astonishment as scientist at centre of global warming email row admits data not well organised | Mail Online

Highlighting, re-sizing, color and bracketed editorial commentary all mine!

So...there is no climate change occuring because the dog ate the data? Or this one scientist is disorganized? Did you recently have a stroke?

Are you always this disingenuous? There is no evidence MAN has caused global weather or temperatures to change. The Earth is in a CONSTANT state of change. Since 1995 there has been no increase in world wide temperatures which shuts down all you Man made global warming kooks.

So...there is no climate change occuring because the dog ate the data? Or this one scientist is disorganized? Did you recently have a stroke?

Climate always changes. Nobody doubts that.

Weather changes, too. Nobody doubts that.

What some of us DO question is the extent of GLOBAL climate change, in the first place (since the data is now shown to be manipulated and suppressed, etc) AND the cause of whatever climate change does exist.

I have seen some scientific evidence (which appears reliable) that shows some increase in average global temperature. This tends to be the stuff taken from satellites which are not as subject to deliberate or even accidental manipulation.

But I have also seen similar kinds of evidence that the South Pole's ice coverage has actually grown (in most places) both in scope and in thickness.

The dog peed on the homework before the dog ate it and it was sloppy and disorganized in the first place is not evidence that there is no global warming. It is some evidence that the scientific data is not entirely reliable. And to go from that often unreliable data to any useful conclusion that there is some catastrophic Global Warming underway and that "it" is caused by human industrial activity is simply FAR too great a leap.

No statistically significant change in temperatures globally in the last fifteen years. Get over the ice issue already. Ships sail through the sea. Ocean currents have shifted causing the melting of ice.

The lead scientist starts to come clean and the faithers scream blasphemy?

Since '95 no increase huh? LIE!

Divide by 100 to get changes in degrees Celsius (deg-C).
Multiply that result by 1.8(=9/5) to get changes in degrees Fahrenheit (deg-F).

Best estimate for absolute global mean for 1951-1980 is 14.0 deg-C or 57.2 deg-F,
so add that to the temperature change if you want to use an absolute scale
(this note applies to global annual means only, J-D and D-N !)

Example -- Table Value : 40
change : 0.40 deg-C or 0.72 deg-F
abs. scale if global annual mean : 14.40 deg-C or 57.92 deg-F

It think we are witnessing a meltdown right here.

No statistically significant change in temperatures globally in the last fifteen years. Get over the ice issue already. Ships sail through the sea. Ocean currents have shifted causing the melting of ice.

The lead scientist starts to come clean and the faithers scream blasphemy?

Hey Save you DO know that ice REFLECTS heat and water ABSORBS heat right?

I just thought I would take this moment to pile on and say

UP YOURS, WARMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahahaha

There is a difference between Arctic ice and Antarctic ice.

And there is also a difference between the Western Antarctic and Eartern Antarctic.

On balance, the Antarctic Ice is growing, not shrinking.

Read it. Consider it. Challenge it. Whatever.

Antarctica has 90 per cent of the Earth’s ice and 80 per cent of its fresh water. Extensive melting of Antarctic ice sheets would be required to raise sea levels substantially, and ice is melting in parts of west Antarctica. The destabilisation of the Wilkins ice shelf generated international headlines this month.

However, the picture is very different in east Antarctica, which includes the territory claimed by Australia.

East Antarctica is four times the size of west Antarctica and parts of it are cooling. The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research report prepared for last week’s meeting of Antarctic Treaty nations in Washington noted the South Pole had shown “significant cooling in recent decades”.

Australian Antarctic Division glaciology program head Ian Allison said sea ice losses in west Antarctica over the past 30 years had been more than offset by increases in the Ross Sea region, just one sector of east Antarctica.

Ice core drilling in the fast ice off Australia’s Davis Station in East Antarctica by the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Co-Operative Research Centre shows that last year, the ice had a maximum thickness of 1.89m, its densest in 10 years. The average thickness of the ice at Davis since the 1950s is 1.67m.

A paper to be published soon by the British Antarctic Survey in the journal Geophysical Research Letters is expected to confirm that over the past 30 years, the area of sea ice around the continent has expanded.

Revealed: Antarctic ice growing, not shrinking Watts Up With That?

It think we are witnessing a meltdown right here.

Wow! Slammed right into the manipulated, faked data of the last fifteen years at full speed. I'd hire a good lawyer and sue the global warming scientists if I were you. Any malpractice attorney should do.

You should click the link, below, and read the entire thing, not just these highlights. But for now, the highlights are cool, too:

Climategate U-turn: Astonishment as scientist at centre of global warming email row admits data not well organised | Mail Online

Highlighting, re-sizing, color and bracketed editorial commentary all mine!

So...there is no climate change occuring because the dog ate the data? Or this one scientist is disorganized? Did you recently have a stroke?

I doubt human idustrial activity over the last 200 years and before was the single cause of global climate change. Volcanos, forest fires and human activity such as deforestation have all contributed. The problem with denial is that it sidetracks the problem which does exist. I don't give a rats ass who or what is causing temps to rise globally. All I care about is what it means to the survival of human beings and what we are going to do about it...assuming we can do anything about it. I am not really a huge tree Huggy. I've sawn down hundreds of em. I was really more concerned about your health. You have been unusually lacking in the insult catagory since the first of the year. I find that troubling.

LOL!

I saw a different side of you. Blame yourself. I now find it more difficult to treat you as dismissively as idiots like Yukon or the 9/11 Truther scum. Hell, even ABikerSailor has been treated (for the most part) to more respect by me of late. Again, I blame you two!

I have, however, been quite reprehensible in some of my discourse, even since the first of the year. You could ask Gunny! :eusa_angel:

So, don't worry about me!

Since '95 no increase huh? LIE!

GLOBAL Land-Ocean Temperature Index in 0.01 degrees Celsius base period: 1951-1980

sources: GHCN 1880-12/2009 + SST: 1880-11/1981 HadISST1
Do you check your sources before posting this dreck?

In case you hadn't heard, Phil Jones was the FRIGGIN' HEAD MAN AT HadISST1.

For the love of Mike........

Indeed. Same with Old Nuts. Over and over again citing sources that have based their conclusions on information already revealed to be compromised. It's pointless to deal with them, they give me a headache.

The republicans used terrorism to keep us afraid, which it turns out, is REAL.

And the democrats used global warming to keep us afraid, which turns out to be a HUGE conspiratorial LIE.

Lolol. This is rich. They are using the sandy berger he's just a messy airhead defense to explain the lost data.
