Climate scientist wants to turn entire Sahara desert into green farmland

Things like that always have unintended consequences. It's not good to mess with nature too much.
I agree. It is like dumping 30 billion tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every year and not expecting any consequences. It is not good to mess with nature that much. We do however know the consequences.
You do realize that the earths long term average CO2 level is above 1725ppm, don't you? Were actually CO2 deprived right now..

Lol, oh, are we counting those years before the human race made its appearance. The longest ice core record comes from East Antarctica, where ice has been sampled to an age of 800,000 years. During this time, the atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration has varied between 180–210 ppm during ice ages, increasing to 280–300 ppm during warmer interglacials. We are way above that now.

Ice core records? They have been shown to be flawed.

How did a ww2 plane have "2k" years worth of ice core over it, otherwise?

Think about it, boy. WW2 was not 2000 years ago.

Stop being in denial about the science and the friggin evidence apparent all over the planet that our climate is changing rapidly...and as a result of manmade emissions.

You really are ignorant of earths history...

Wiki ??? Oh please.. We don't even use that for toilet paper. It is factually challenged and that is being nice..

When you only snipet a small time span that supports you're hyperbole its called cherry picking... This is why you have been duped.

Yes let's go back to depending on third world countries for our power. There is a national security issue not being addresses

Citing the average CO2 level in the atmosphere for the past 800,000 years is cherry picking? Lol

In Geological terms... Yes, it is..

Solar power pays for itself. It is not a cost, it is a real investment.
`
Solar power and farming the Sahara is definitely an intriguing idea with much merit. But it needs more study and a slow, calculated implementation. Unfortunately, there is no unified organization to this. Reports and studies on the benefits vs risks often clash and are based on conjecture more than empirical data.

This is really slow.
2008 ".....Arnulf Jaeger-Waldau of the European commission's Institute for Energy, said it would require the capture of just 0.3% of the light falling on the Sahara and Middle East deserts to meet all of Europe's energy needs."
Solar power from Saharan sun could provide Europe's electricity, says EU

And CO2 is still an atmospheric rounding error
