The varietals are more or less adapted to heat as well. My state is known for its great Pinots, but some growers might end up planting Merlots and Cabs because Pinots are more prone to sun burn as well as rotting easily should we get early fall rains (also an increased likelihood here due to climate change).

Yes, the Germans found that out when they moved here. My papa(born in 1896) told me about the German wine, since he was German, sir name Helm.He said after getting drunk on it, you could drink water the next day and get drunk again.........
