IPCC Scientists Caught Producing False Data To Push Global Warming

Al Gore-linked Goddard Institute claimed “hottest October on record” after using temperature figures from September

Climate scientists allied with the IPCC have been caught citing fake data to make the case that global warming is accelerating, a shocking example of mass public deception that could spell the beginning of the end for the acceptance of man-made climate change theories.

On Monday, NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), run by Al Gore’s chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, announced that last month was the hottest October on record.

“This was startling,” reports the London Telegraph. “Across the world there were reports of unseasonal snow and plummeting temperatures last month, from the American Great Plains to China, and from the Alps to New Zealand. China’s official news agency reported that Tibet had suffered its “worst snowstorm ever”. In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years.”

It soon came to light that the data produced by NASA to make the claim, and in particular temperature records covering large areas of Russia, was merely carried over from the previous month. NASA had used temperature records from the naturally hotter month of September and claimed they represented temperature figures in October.

(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)

When NASA was confronted with this glaring error, they then attempted to compensate for the lower temperatures in Russia by claiming they had discovered a new “hotspot” in the Arctic, despite satellite imagery clearly showing that Arctic sea ice had massively expanded its coverage by 30 per cent, an area the size of Germany, since summer 2007.

The figures published by Dr Hansen’s institute are one of the primary sets of data used by the IPCC to promote its case for man-made global warming and they are widely quoted because they consistently show higher temperatures than other figures.

“Yet last week’s latest episode is far from the first time Dr Hansen’s methodology has been called in question,” reports the Telegraph. “In 2007 he was forced by Mr Watts and Mr McIntyre to revise his published figures for US surface temperatures, to show that the hottest decade of the 20th century was not the 1990s, as he had claimed, but the 1930s.”

Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the IPCC and a close ally of Hansen, also raised eyebrows recently during a presentation in Australia, during which he claimed that global temperatures have recently been rising “very much faster” than ever as he cited a graph showing purported temperature increases over the last decade. In fact, as even the vast majority of man-made global warming advocates will concede, temperatures since 1998 have moved sideways and over the last 18 months they have clearly begun a downward trend.

Whether such “mistakes” are made in genuine error or are part of a politicized push for man-made global warming to be universally accepted, and the evidence clearly suggests that latter is the case, the fact is that we can no longer tolerate the cry that “the debate is over” on man-made global warming in light of such gargantuan falsehoods.

Likewise, the push for carbon emissions to be reduced by 80 per cent or more, a figure that would completely cripple western economies and lower living standards to a near third world level, can no longer be accepted as a reasonable course of action now that the primary authority on man-made global warming, the UN IPCC, has been proven to be using fraudulent data to make its case.

Foisted upon the public by means of giant multi-million dollar PR campaigns and brainwashing mandates that have worked themselves into every sector of society, including education, movies, television the arts and culture, all the attention and funding is being lavished upon a manufactured hoax, peddled with the aid of phony data, as governments prepare to suck what’s left out of the middle class and poor with carbon taxes that do nothing to help the environment, while all the real environmental problems are left in the shadows

Abstract Al Gore’s movie An Inconvenient Truth gives a variety of unusually biased interpretations of the state of climate science and global warming theory. These cover a wide range of natural events and processes which could potentially be impacted by global warming, but which the movie misrepresents as clear examples of the human influence on climate. A few examples include the mixing up of cause and effect in his graphical portrayal of temperature and carbon dioxide variations over hundreds of thousands of years; the repeated depiction of ice calving from glaciers as a sign of global warming; the implication that Hurricane Katrina was the fault of humans; and the particularly extreme view that the Greenland ice sheet will melt, flooding coastal cities worldwide. Ultimately, all of these are related to the widespread perception that scientists have uniquely tied global warming to anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. The real inconvenient truth is that science has no idea how much of recent warming is natural versus the result of human activities.

Hurricane intensity linked to global warming

A new study says climate change is affecting the intensity of Atlantic hurricanes and that hurricane damage will likely worsen in coming years due to increasing ocean temperatures. Unlike recent studies that have linked higher sea temperatures to an increase in the number of hurricanes, the new research shows a direct relationship between climate change and hurricane intensity.

In early August, forecasters at the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration's National Hurricane Center revised downward slightly their early-season predictions of the 2006 Atlantic hurricane season. Citing atmospheric and oceanic conditions less conducive to hurricane formation than they initially expected, the center decreased its predictions of named storms (12-15 instead of 13-16), hurricanes (7-9 instead of 8-10), and major hurricanes (3-4 instead of 4-6). The revised prediction is still above-normal compared to the long-term average.

This pair of images from Japan's Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for EOS Aqua satellite shows areas where sea surface temperatures were hurricane-ready on August 14, 2006 (top), and August 1 (bottom). Sea surface temperatures warmer than a threshold of about 28 degrees Celsius (about 82 degrees Fahrenheit) are one of the required ingredients for hurricanes to form. Areas where waters have reached the hurricane-ready threshold are yellow or red in these images, while areas where waters are generally to cool to support hurricanes are blue. Coastal areas where temperatures were not measured are light gray.

The study, published by James Elsner of Florida State University in the August 23 issue of Geophysical Research Letters, the journal of the American Geophysical Union, found that a correlation between average air temperatures during the June through November hurricane season and sea surface temperatures that help fuel hurricanes winds. Elsner says his work "helps provide verification of a linkage between atmospheric warming caused largely by greenhouse gases and the recent upswing in frequency and intensity of Atlantic hurricanes, including Katrina and Rita."

Konrad Steffen arrived on the Greenland Ice Sheet for the 2002 summer fieldwork season and immediately observed that something significant was happening in the Arctic. Pools of water already spotted the ice surface, and melting was occurring where it never had before. “That year the melt was so early and so intense — it really jumped out at me. I’d never seen the seasonal melt occur that high on the ice sheet before, and it had never started so early in the spring,” said Steffen, principal scientist and interim director at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) at the University of Colorado.

A scurrilous lying crock of shit. The scientists were given the wrong figures, and as soon as they found out, they corrected it. Guess what, that changed October 2008 to the second warmest one on record;

NOAA - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - NOAA: Second Warmest October for Global Temperatures
NOAA: Second Warmest October for Global Temperatures
November 18, 2008

The combined global land and ocean surface average temperature for October 2008 was the second warmest since records began in 1880, according to a preliminary analysis by NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C.

Temperature Highlights
The combined global land and ocean surface temperature for October was 58.23 degrees F — 1.13 degrees F above the 20th century mean of 57.1 degrees F.
Separately, the global land surface temperature was 50.72 degrees F — 2.02 degrees F above the 20th century mean of 48.7 degrees F, ranking as the warmest October on record. Much of the unusual warmth occurred over Asia, Australia, and Eastern Europe.
The global ocean surface temperature of 61.41 degrees F tied October 2005 as sixth warmest on record and was 0.81 degree F above the 20th century mean of 60.6 degrees F.
The combined global land and ocean surface temperature for January-October was 58.25 degrees F – 0.85 degree above the 20th century mean of 57.4 degrees F and ranking as the 9th warmest January-October on record.
Global Highlights for October
Arctic sea ice coverage during October was at its third lowest extent since satellite records began in 1979, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center. Average ice extent during October was 3.24 million square miles, which is 9.5 percent below the 1979-2000 average. The record lowest extent for October, set in 2007, was 2.55 million square miles. Arctic sea ice extent has been declining by an average of 5.4 percent per decade over the past 30 years.
Northern Hemisphere snow cover extent during October 2008 was 6.48 million square miles, which is below the 1967-2008 average and ranks as the ninth lowest October extent.
In early October, Hurricane Norbert became the most powerful 2008 hurricane in the eastern Pacific when it reached Category 4 strength. The storm weakened when it struck Mexico’s southern Baja California on October 11, but still brought heavy rain, strong winds, and widespread flooding to the islands of Santa Margarita and Magdelena. Norbert tracked across the Gulf of California and made a second landfall on October 12 on the Mexican mainland Sonora Coast.

Dear Dr. Pachauri and others associated with IPCC

We are writing to you and others associated with the IPCC position – that man’s CO2 is a driver of global warming and climate change – to ask that you now in view of the evidence retract support from the current IPCC position [as in footnote 1] and admit that there is no observational evidence in measured data going back 22,000 years or even millions of years that CO2 levels (whether from man or nature) have driven or are driving world temperatures or climate change.

If you believe there is evidence of the CO2 driver theory in the available data please present a graph of it...........................................................................................

Sheesh. Don't even have to go to the experts in climate to answer this idiocy. Here are what the physicists say;

The Carbon Dioxide Greenhouse Effect

I cant follow any of old rocks links, he presented Dr. Hansens falsified data, if old rocks leading expert is a liar I would be a fool to follow links to lesser men of lesser intergrity.

look at the nasty filth that old rock has spewed, that is not rational nor is posting false information, and now old rock says he new it was false, after old rock posted it as true.

tell us old rock why did you post a lie, than post you knew it was a lie

The liar here is you, old dog. You know the real story, and are simply ranting on in an ideological diatrabe.

Real slow. Hansen, and the other scientists were given the wrong informatin, which led them to believe that October 2008 was the warmest. As soon as they found out about the misinformation, they corrected their figures, which then showed October 2008 to the second warmest on record.

old rock you ignored that you posted a liar, the guy lied twice but you only addressed one of his lies, why did you ignore the other

Damn, you are one stupid ass. Dr. Hansen did not have to change his data. 1934 was the warmest year only in the lower 48 states. Worldwide, 1998 or 2005 were the warmest years.

:cuckoo:
old rock had a post ready as soon as I pointed out that hansen was caught using temperatures for september in october, I pointed this out and than old rock posts that hansen corrected the data, but what old rock posted was false, hansen did not correct the data, other scientists busted him red handed.

old rock was willing to present a discredited report and old rock was ready with a response if any of us caught him. you fucked up and showed us

OLD ROCK KNOWINGLY AND WILLINGLY PRESENTED A FALSIFIED REPORT,

that is my charge, HOW DO YOU PLEAD OLD ROCK, INNOCENT OR GUILTY!!!!

Answer innocent or guilty and I will let the other users decide

and now you are changing what hansen did, can you not leave your lie alone. hansen willfully used a warmer months data in a colder month.

you are changing what happened.
:cuckoo:

A scurrilous lying crock of shit. The scientists were given the wrong figures, and as soon as they found out, they corrected it.

No, it was not scientists, it was Dr. Hansen that old rock uses as the foremost expert.

No, if was not wrong figures, Dr. Hansen took the figures Dr. Hansen used the month before.

No, hansen gave himself the figures, its his research.

No, hansen does not correct the data, hansen gets busted by other scientist

and finally old rock has the cover story yet posted the false report just like hansen.

old rock is a scurrilous lying crock of shit (this is not a flame, its old rocks words with old rocks name placed in front)

He further massages other reports. Leaving out any material that is contrary to his faith.

:cuckoo:
old rock had a post ready as soon as I pointed out that hansen was caught using temperatures for september in october, I pointed this out and than old rock posts that hansen corrected the data, but what old rock posted was false, hansen did not correct the data, other scientists busted him red handed.

old rock was willing to present a discredited report and old rock was ready with a response if any of us caught him. you fucked up and showed us

:cuckoo:

Looks like Old Rocks has pleaded insanity. That could account for it.

Oh they had record setting cold last summer amd this was more than one province. Also Alaska and I believe North Dakota. I can look it up for ya if ya like.

Popular Technology.net: Global Cooling in 2008

You just keep posting the same deceptions from different sites. This link is dishonestly using a troposphere graph.
Here is the actual distribution of heat and cold for the whole GLOBE for 2008. Most of the globe was warmer except the northern Pacific and parts of the USA and Canada.

map-blended-mntp-200801-200812-pg.gif

Thought soft rocks might like to be reminded of all the cooling that is going on. It's damned cold here in New England today. I do hope it warms a tad before the grandkids come over and do their egg hunt. That AGW is never around when you need it.

Here in case you somehow missed them here is a list of all the links from the site:

Since you are being repetitious I decided to repost the yearly global heat anomalies chart.

But I want you to consider this, that maybe the weather you cite is:
WINTER'S LAST STAND.

The whole globe is red except one area where there was a La Nina cycle. Remember this year 2008 is also lower in some sun cycles, and a couple of volcanos blew their tops. So with MOST conditions favoring cooling, there is only ONE major cool area on the whole globe!

So just think how hot it might get when those other factors start to add to the greenhouse effect rather than take away.

old rocks defense

Hey, you are braver than brave!

Don't you realize that you are arguing with the Ruler of RisingTemperatures, the Honcho of Humidity, and the Caliph of CarbonDioxide!

Careful, these sneaky curs love those negative reps.
