Climate change and moral judgement

If these people really worried about co2 warming our planet they would support nuclear. There's certainly some risk to it, but if we're all going to die. Why not?

Life is about finding a balance. One that doesn't collapse civilization is a good idea.

Economical renewable and nuclear could work! Where's the moral judgement call over raising someones electric bill?

Most reasonable advocates already acknowledge and encourage an enhanced role for advanced design nuclear power; and at this stage, swapping gas for coal and oil is encreasingly the only viable short-term path toward minimal disruption transition.

If that were true there would be nuc plants in the building phase. Instead the enviro nazis file a lawsuit at the mere mention of a nuc plant. Nice try, but actions speak louder than hollow words.

If you are looking for some sort of psychological answer to the alleged acceptance of the pseudo-science of man made global warming look no further than the History channel or Nat-Geo or a half a dozen cable "learning channels". If you lean towards the occult you can get credible evidence from a couple of programs that "para-normal" activity exists. It's easy to be a believer if you accept the data. Likewise UFO sightings and "evidence" that ancient people were influenced from visitors from outer space. You can find archaeologists who dig up "evidence" of the mythical kingdom of Atlantis twice a day on cable TV. The dirty little secret is that the left's political motivation has managed to combine the agenda of the radical environmentalists with the enthusiasm of the socialist hate-America crowd to come up with "evidence" and convincing dialog designed to bring down the United States in a global extortion scheme. You know in your heart that there are no ghosts or UFO's but if you are weak enough you can be convinced that there are. The government sponsored grants for "global warming" studies will keep researchers driving Lexus cars as long as the money keeps flowing and the researchers ain't likely to kill the golden goose.

In fact --- the SOLUTION was conceived even before any "consensus" was gathered wasn't it?

With less to be gained by addressing pollution and the whales, there was desperation to find a meaty cause to motivate the agenda. And how better to do that than to insert yourselves SQUARE into driver's seat of energy policy. There's a problem with that however. If we really wanted to fix Global Warming today according the prescription -- we could do that with nuclear policy.

I'll believe the sensational AGW hype when the envirolobby is BEGGING to build out nuclear plants. AT LEAST they could concede that much to save the planet from this CO2 catastrophy.

Damn Animal Planet got me with that Mermaid Hoax.. Let my skeptic shields down for that one..

See that`s EXACTLY the same problems we had before Canadians annihilated our Liberals and Green freaks in the last elections.
Right now we are in the process cleaning house and are dismantling the crap these bastards foisted on the tax payer during their reign that almost bankrupted Canada...like a $billion gun registry, U.N. style that was even supposed to track ammunition purchase from private gun owners and was supposed to forward the data to the U.N. Then the pipeline & environment issues where the Rockefeller, San Francisco Tides Foundation, Greenpeace, the Sierra club etc etc paid "activists" to bottle up the environment hearings concerning every pipeline coming from our North. They even went so far to register schoolkids from the U.S. to take part in these hearings...for example > 200 "speakers" which were pupils from across the border...but that`s all over now:

Harper says science, not politics will decide Northern Gateway fate

And then there was the Liberal "Plan for sustainable development" which in fact was a supply "management" scheme forbidding the free trade in wheat, barley...well every crop there is.
We scrapped that just last week....just in time while "climate change" freaks in the U.S. were gloating over mid-west crop failures...we have bumper crops this year in Canada and who ever from our good neighbors south of us wants to can come here with "hopper trucks" and buy directly of our farmers or per bulk railway loads to ease the pinch. Just before that the only way to help out with a shortage a U.S. cattle Rancher would have had to buy from the "Canadian Wheat board" at grossly inflated prices...while the stuff they wanted had to rot in our farmer`s bins.
Yeah "sustainable development" my ass,...this was no different how it was done with the energy prices.
It`s no wonder Obama is trying to make the taxes that Romney paid a political issue, while Liberals like Bloomberg in New York outlaw soft drinks, baby formula in the hospitals, but at the same time supports "give away" vibrators and dildos...the Chick Fil-A crap aside...
well that`s exactly the same kind of crap what we had to deal with in Canada.....and then it was payback time...

Headlines around the world:
Historic Shift: Canada's Conservatives Win Landslide Election

By the way Obama did not just block the pipelines, he also stopped the diversion projects which would have prevented the Red River flooding in Minnesota...in Canada we have been ready for many years to dump their flood waters into our by-pass Canals which go straight into the Nelson hydro-electric system whre most of the power Manitoba supplies to the U.S. comes from. Obama prefers that Fargo N.D. and other cities flood...to teach them a lesson about "climate change"...
GET RID OF HIM...!!!!

If the only people opposing or nervous about a well-regulated, advanced design, nuclear power program were the "enviro nazis," neither one of us would be complaining about the lack of a more substantive nuclear component to our current and future national energy plan. If the industry had spent a 10th of the money telling the truth about nuclear power over the last 2 decades that they have spent trying to hide the truth about AGW over the last five years we would have had a largely nuclear baseload already established.

Ironically, it may well be that coal and oil industry lobbyists and pressure had more to do with the marginalization of the nuclear power industry than "enviro nazis."

Well now, Flatulence, we cannot do anything about your tastes in the TV shows you watch. Most of us really interested in science do not waste time on such nonsense. That you do is simply evidence for the lack of scientific acumen on your part.

Most intelligent environmentalists are in favor of wisely built nuclear plants. They simply have one major drawback at present, that is cost. A mix of renewables and nuclear is how we will go in the future. People like you that only engage in negatives, will have little influence on the process.

The current hysteria over climate change to explain the seasons is more like Isaac Asimov's Nightfalls story than real science.
