Some one call 9-1-1.:eusa_angel:

Dreamy jump in some one help:D We have to help Bill here.

Silver threads and golden needles. You know I will find a way to put up the thing you call the you tube,

But I actually saw the girls sing this. You have to remember this was with Marty. It was just a one nighter.

That doesn't sound good does it?

ETA the video: I'm a moron. Deal with me okay? All I can get is Linda.

I love word smiths. So for those that cannot hear it. Or maybe if you can.

Sometimes it takes a lot more when you take the time to read the words. But when you read the words. You understand the song so much more.

Now isn't this the best?

Silver threads and golden needles
Cannot mend this heart of mine
And I'll never drown my sorrow
In the warm glow of your wine

You can't buy my love with money
For I never was that kind
Silver threads and golden needles
I don't want your golden mansions
With a tear in every room
All I want's the love you promised
Beneath the halo moon

But you think I should be happy
With your money and your name
And hide myself in sorrow
While you play your cheatin' game

Silver threads and golden needles
Cannot mend this heart of mine
And I'll never drown my sorrow
In the warm glow of your wine

You can't buy my love with money
For I never was that kind
Silver threads and golden needles
Cannot mend this heart of mine

I really like the old fashioned type country music.

Big bellied white guy
four part harmony
banjo
guitar
Hoe down
Yeeee Haw
Cowboy hats
Hay ride

I went back to Virginia for Christmas and "the family" had a good old fashioned dance in the fire station which was the biggest building in the area where my extended family lives. Lot of them are veterans like me. There was square dancing and a fantastic band. They sounded like whoever made that video.
Everyone has two names. I spent the most time with my cousins Nancy Carol, John Thomas, Teri Lee and Anna Mae. My grand parents passed but everyone there I talked to told me how much they missed Big Daddy and Mama Dot. I love my country music and I love my country family.

This has been my favorite music video for the last 5 years. This guy's voice. Totally "old school".

George Jones - He Stopped Loving Her Today - YouTube

Sounds similar to "Help me Make it throught the Night", but better.

You know what the best fun is. When I lived there, just for fun I took the "music tour".

Family down to visit. It was awesome.

Picture it. All of a sudden out of the blue I was outside Johnny Cash's house.

They had to drag me back on to the bus. :eusa_angel: I was ready to go in just to say hey.

When Linda was doing "Country", it was the best part of her career as far as I'm concerned. Her version of Roy Orbison's "Blue Bayou" is spectacular.

One strange thing that happened, years after she stopped doing country, she did a tour called "Songs of my Father", which was totally in Spanish since her parents are Mexican. Some in the audiance yelled out "sing English" and others walked out. It was a beautiful show, very traditional. It must have been a little hard for her. But I'm sure the standing ovations helped.

Now what is funny is that her father translated Blue Bayou into "El Lago Azul" which she sang in Spanish which became a huge hit outside the US.

I felt the same way at Graceland. I flew my sister to Texas from Nevada and I drove down there for Thanksgiving at my niece's house with her family, my sister's daughter.
Then me and my sister drove back to Chicago, but we took a week and stopped at all kinds of places. Country kitchens and old time stores. We also went to Graceland, which was hilarious. Shag carpet on the walls. A bedroom that looks modeled on a western brothel. I just loved it. And all those Elvis outfits and awards. It's was truly amazing. He was supposed to star in that movie "A Star is Born", but the Colonel felt the drugs and the "way down" would have been bad for his career so Kris Kristofferson played it instead. The "King" would have made that movie a classic. Ah, but what might have been.
