Civility? Lets Do It! But Do the Left/Democrats Really Want That?...

Man I watched NBC last night and i sure didn't see any civility coming from the Left/Democrats. I hear all this "Civility" preaching from the Left/Democrats but i sure haven't seen them living up to their preaching so far. I also visited the HuffPo the last couple of days and i definitely didn't see any civility coming from the Left/Democrats there either. The one thing that disturbed me the most about the HuffPo was how they routinely attacked the children of politicians they disagreed with. They did this like it was the norm at HuffPo and there was nothing wrong with it. I don't visit the HuffPo very often so i wouldn't know for sure but it looks like that it is the norm over there.

In my opinion NBC & HuffPo are the ultimate in bizarre wingy hate mongering. Conservatives can't hold a candle to them on that. I mean calling someone "The Worst Person in the World?" Can't get much more wingy and hateful than that in my opinion. The NY Times has also slid off into that Left/Democrat hate-world. Some of their Democrats seem to have completely lost it at this point. So is this Left/Democrat "Civility" preaching just a game and a way for them to gain something politically out of the Arizona tragedy,or is it for real? I'll let you decide that for yourself. So far i haven't seen the Left/Democrats living up to their own preaching so i'm very skeptical. I don't think the Left/Democrats really want civility at all. I think it's just a game. They just don't gain enough by being civil. That's how i see it anyway.

Unfortunately you're right. :(

This board sure is fun.

After two years of republican angst, stubbornness, and incivility .. SEE: "muslim, terrorist-loving, socialist, marxist, communist, not an American, plantation party, Pelosi, Reid, lets say no to any and everything to anything Obama says, take our country back, on and on and on .. now all of a sudden when its their turn at bat .. it's the dawning of Aquarius. NOW, we should all be civil .. and don't do what we spent two years doing to you.

Only NOW do republicans leaders have problems with personal attacks on Obama.

... and in true conservative style, they'll ignore what is said from the right, but anthing remotely said uncivilly from the left is an violation of the agreement.

You know .. just like on this board.

Here you guys are having a circle jerk about mean ol' lefties as if none of you notice the rancor coming from the right .. including from some of you.

It's real simple .. unless you're children.

Do unto others.

Simple

If someone is civil and respectful, respond with civility and respect .. even if they've been uncivil in the past.

Don't treat others with respect, don't expect it.

Simple.

Let me see if I understand your position.

Personal attacks on Obama, forbidden.
Personal attacks on Bush, permitted.

This is why I refuse to be civil, so I can tell hypocritical idiots like you what I truly think of them. My grandmother could be civil and let you know the same thing, but idiots usually missed the subtleties.

Comprehension a problem?

Are you of the opinion that I'm defending democrats or what they do?

Or could it be that I'm talking about the idiocy of illusions of civility when it's your turn at bat .. from both sides?

I didn't vote for Obama.

If you want respect, you have to give it.

Simple

Where have you condemned Democrats for their personal attacks on Bush? I saw a post you made in this thread that denied a simple fact about a movie that was made in this country, so that makes you part of the problem. Personally, if incivility is a problem I am glad to be part of it, because all being civil gets us is shit like the PARTRIOT Act and restrictions on free speech at college.

When you see me crying because someone doesn't respect me you can point out that I need to give it, until then do not whine to me because I think you are an idiot and am willing to say so.

That is true simplicity.

Ah the good ole civil days for the Left/Democrats...Remember when they made movies about assassinating George Bush? Or calling his daughters "Drunken Whores?" Or publicly wishing for the death of George Bush and Dick Cheney? Yea they sure were pretty "Civil" back then. Oh well,i guess they just assume everyone forgot about their despicable behavior in the past. Well i shouldn't say "past." Just watch MSNBC today or head over to the HuffPo and see how "Civil" the Left/Democrats are these days. It should be fun for ya. Conservatives can't hold a candle to the hateful wingers on the Left. If you don't believe me,just check em out for yourself. I'll believe the Left/Democrat civility when i see it.

When it was their turn at bat .. and there are some here who can confirm that.

I have no clue what you're talking about .. and I'mk not complaining about "your incivility"

I expect it. Haven't you heard anything I've said?

Most libs have two states of being... totally unhinged and asleep.

Ok, first of all, youre assuming Im a liberal. Second, if I said, "And most republicans wallow in stupidity", that would be a generalization and un-civil.

So? See... I don't really give a shit. Just spare us the lectures and the sanctimony.

Death of a President (2006 film)

Death of a President is a 2006 British mockumentary about the assassination of George W. Bush, the 43rd U.S. President, on 19 October 2007 in Chicago, Illinois. By means of actors, archival film footage and computer-generated special effects, the assassination is the thematic beginning of serious discussions about civil disobedience, racial profiling, the U.S. Government's reduction of civil liberties, news sensationalism as agitational propaganda, and the theory of Just War.

Still not seeing that civility coming from the Left/Democrats. I think last night is the last night i will ever watch NBC. Talk about hysterical hate mongers? Yikes!

calling someone "the worst person in the world" is MUCH worse than calling someone;

a liberal NAZI
a liberal SCUMBAG
a liberal NAZI SCUMBAG
a TERRORIST
a TERRORIST LOVER

So labelling someone "The Worst Person in the World" is the Left/Democrat version of 'Civil Discourse?' Just checking to see if i understood you properly. Weird stuff.

It doesn't have to be. Change is always possible if people really want it.

Honestly,i don't see the Left/Democrats gaining anything with civil discourse. They seem to really get off on that "Worst Person in the World" stuff. I say call their bluff though. Lets have civility.

President Obama has been extremely civil, I think. John Boehner has not. What is up with that man?? The Prez invited him to go on Air Force One to attend the service in Arizona, and he declined. He was also invited to the state dinner for China, and declined that invite. Why??

Not only is it rude and disrespectful to the president, but you would think he would want to attend these events, since he is speaker of the house!!! I think he is putting his personal feelings first and that's not good.
