I don't want "Civility" in debates. What I want is for people to advocate their ideas, listen to other ideas and come up with compromise if possible.

What should not be happening is talking about shooting each other.

And the debate..in congress..should end at 6pm..followed by cocktails.

I do not agree 100% about the debate ending at 6pm, but I will stick with the spirit of your post about them ultimately working together, even if they disagree about some things. There is no sense in opposing everything the other guy says simply because he disagrees with you about something you both are passionate about.

I was just pointing out that i have been watching NBC and CNN the last couple of days and i haven't seen any civility coming from the Left/Democrats. In fact i've only seen the opposite.
